Sen. Martha McSally, the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat, said Wednesday that she was raped in the Air Force by a superior officer.
The Arizona Republican, a 26-year military veteran, made the disclosure at a Senate hearing on the armed services' efforts to prevent sexual assaults and improve the response when they occur.
McSally said she did not report being sexually assaulted because she did not trust the system, and she said she was ashamed and confused. McSally did not name the officer who she says raped her.
"I stayed silent for many years, but later in my career, as the military grappled with the scandals, and their wholly inadequate responses, I felt the need to let some people know I too was a survivor," she said,

“...one female who filed a complaint and the County of Sacramento doing basically nothing...I believe her.”
Again: How many congresspeople and Senators had you met personally? McSally probably had met every Senator in the USA. She had worked for one. She had already made national news by being the “first female fighter pilot to fly combat” - which consisted, IIRC, of 90 hours patrolling over Kuwait and southern Iraq while no one was shooting at us. She sued the Secretary of Defense, for goodness sakes - but was terrified of reporting someone had raped her?
REALLY?!
Because reporting a rape would hurt her, but suing the Secretary of Defense would not?!
McCain 2.0, the female version.
“my understanding is the laws state specifically you cannot turn away an illegal alien from voting in a state election”
Not true.
“On Monday, Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, No. 12-71, said a federal law requiring states to accept and use a form displaced an Arizona law requiring various kinds of proof of citizenship.
The law, the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, allows voters to register using a federal form that asks, Are you a citizen of the United States? Prospective voters must check a box for yes or no, and they must sign the form, swearing under the penalty of perjury that they are citizens.
The state law, by contrast, required prospective voters to prove they were citizens by submitting documents like birth certificates, passports or naturalization papers. They could also provide a drivers license number from a state that verifies citizenship.”
Under federal law, you cannot REQUIRE PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP in order to register to vote. That is not the same as saying illegals are allowed to vote. Notice Antonin Scalia wrote the opinion.
Part of why she lost in November was the lack of Republican enthusiasm for McCain In A Dress. I voted for McSally in the general election and encouraged everyone I could to do likewise because Sinema is repulsive. But in a tight election, having a lot of people in your party who don’t like you is a bad thing...
When you use the term Superior Officer. you show how stupid and out of touch you are. I get that you might be inferior but the term is not used.
She had an amazing and honorable career. She has no reason to lie about anything

And since she is a woman we must believe her as she joins her sisters in noble crusade to achieve superiority of the white male dominated uh earth
Agreed. I understand the skepticism with the #MeToo Cultural Marxist weapon being wielded - but males raping females is nothing new, and not as rare as some would like to think.
I served in church ministry in two denominations. I had inside information on instances of rape. I know it happens, and that victims often keep silent out of fear and shame.
I read somewhere that they do.

It probably happened several times, right around the time that fitness reports were being prepared. See post #19
I was a pilot in the military, though a different branch. Most female pilots I came in contact were aggressive, promiscuous, and exclusively dated/fraternized with their male pilot peers and no one else. Military pilots are hard working and disciplined, it’s extremely rare that one would rape anyone. Almost universally every time I heard a charge of any kind of sexual impropriety against one it was found upon further investigation that there was a secondary motive for the female making the claim. Sometimes that motive was that they had too much to drink, hopped into bed with a guy and regretted it the next morning because the word had gotten out. Yelling rape is often used as a get out of jail free card to whitewash someone’s promiscuous behavior. That’s essentially what the tailhook fiasco was about. Paula Coughlin was a party girl that made a habit of drunken sluttery and went a little wild at tailhook. A week later she didn’t like what was being whispered about her so she decided it was sexual assault. She made millions off of it so it worked out for her. I work with a guy that had an affair with her before tailhook, he was married at the time and she knew it. It didn’t matter to her (or him I guess).
By not naming names, McSally has just smeared every superior officer who had ever worked with her.

Good point. Name the perp, or STFU.

Every officer she worked under should class action her ass right now.
“It would create a never ending sideshow”
Correction: it would ‘sustain’ a never ending sideshow. She’s already created it.
“shes an unlikeable sort”
How did she get enough voters behind her to get elected? I didn’t keep with her while running for office.
..semi, lol, you must be a woman!
I’m talking about men and women being in close confinement on a US Warship and your talking about “rape”. I couldn’t agree with you more on the subject of “rape”... ...particularly since I have a beautiful daughter.
So, reread what I said, if you want, and try again.
Appointed after losing an election.
I can believe it.
Women have a ready “Get out of Jail” card in their hip pocket. Not all women used it, not at all. But it is there and they know it. Men don’t have that “luxury” .
Well, for starters she didnt get elected to her Senate seat, she was appointed. She lost her first Congressional elections n in 2012 and was barely elected in 2014. The only decent margin she enjoyed was in 2016 where she won by 14.
BS again.
The topic of the thread is rape and you're talking about needing separation because of the testosterone-induced, "uncontrollable" urges of men.
Try again.
Mark Kelly is against the second amendment. AZ voters will reject him for that stance on the issue alone.
She’s quoted in the Wikipedia entry as saying “I also am a military sexual assault survivor”.
Survivor? Sexual assault in itself does not endanger one’s life, does it.
Oh well... The Wikipedia article portrays her as the energizer bunny - big fundraiser, won lawsuit against Dept. of Defense, persistent, has her own rescue dog, ...
Hey, she voted in line with President Trump’s position in 96.7% of the votes!
