The Senate voted Tuesday to confirm Allison Jones Rushing, 37, to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, making her the youngest federal judge in the country.
The Senate voted 53-44 to put Rushing into the lifetime court seat. Every Republican present voted for her. Every Democrat present opposed her.

Well, and does it make a difference?
If the democrats have a majority, they are going to put on who they want regardless of your cynical opinion.
The only time it would make a difference is if Republicans hold the majority with a Democrat president.
Of course, there is quite a big difference between the parties, but it is also true that the worst RINOS, Collins and Murkowski, are less scrupulous when circuit court judges are voted on. If Allison Rushing were nominated for the Supreme Court and if there were even a small hint that she might overrule Roe v. Wade, they would be singing a different tune.
This is also a reason why Brett Kavanaugh was nominated for Anthony Kennedys seat instead of a “fire-breathing” originalist.
This is why the Republicans controlling the Senate is more important than the Democrats controlling the House.
By the time Mozart was her age, he had been dead for four years.
Her CV is very impressive.
Well, I was 37 once.
Don't look now, but your apostrophe is hanging out.
Bro you don’t have to put this into English for those of us that are dimwitted.
But ALL that you posted means nothing to me.
There must be a way to say what is going on that a dumb layman would understand. :)
“Of course, there is quite a big difference between the parties, but it is also true that the worst RINOS, Collins and Murkowski, are less scrupulous when circuit court judges are voted on.”
That includes the 9th Circuit. If RINOs are reliable for that, I’m fine with them...at least if the alternative is Democrats, which maybe be overturned by the Supremes a huge percentage of the time, but that actual number of reviewed cases is tiny...so most of the 9th Circuit’s rulings do stick.
“They also need to end the practice of allowing BLUE SLIPS TO BLOCK DISTRICT COURT NOMINEES”
It would also be nice if you would end the practice of beating up your CAPS lock key.
Other than that, good post.
From the article:
“Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), who helped usher Rushing through the Senate confirmation process, defended her credentials.
She is really considered one of the fast-rising stars in the legal profession, he said. She is clearly qualified to do this job.”
Senator Tillis has been doing a great job in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Take that you communist bastards.
Senator Tillis is about to taint his great reputation on the Judiciary Committee when he votes for the resolution to overturn the President’s National Emergency Executive Order. He is confused about the law, the Constitution, and the roles of the Executive and the Legislature. Not good for someone who sits on the Judiciary Committee.
The 4th Circuit is almost as left as the 9th. We need to clean it up NOW. The Ninth just got a conservative judge so we are slowly whitteling away at them.
If you are talking about the highway system around DC (and Baltimore), it is shaped like a coiled pants belt.
She looks like Frazier Crane’s wife.
I hope youre right.
Yep
Every Republican present voted for her. Every Democrat present opposed her.
IOW, was bipartisan. /s
