At the end of February, the United Methodist Church bravely dodged what would have been a self-inflicted kill shot. Pushed to definitive action by gay activists within their ranks, they not only refused to mutilate clear biblical teaching on same-sex couples and gay clergy, the UMC voted to strengthen its adherence to biblical sexual ethics.

That is much more than just a platitude. It is something the LBHSGQRTSYEX people don’t get. What they are doing in acting on their impulses is a SIN.
The article itself was a very interesting read; seems the “gay activists” within the Methodist church are more racist than most Klansmen.
The US hierarchy of the church overwhelmingly supported the plan to abandon the biblical view of marriage.
What saved the UMC is that a large and growing proportion of the church is made up African congregations originally established by missionaries. Those African congregations overwhelmingly supported the traditional view of marriage, and refused to be bullied into a ‘compromise’.
Perhaps someday these African congregations will send missionaries to us to teach us to read our Bibles again.

While I am not a Methodist...I’ve worked with individuals over the years who were. Basically, you can now divide the religious group into three sections: (1) southern black congregations, (2) older generation whites in the NE, and (3) social justice type members in their 20 to 40 year old range (the pro-LGBT players). You can find a number of the Methodist churches which are simply dying off....50-percent of the membership is over age 50.
Long term, I don’t see the group being able to contain themselves and operate as one single church.
The Lutherans caved. Then they took federal money for resettling illegals. Then they built themselves brand new churches.
Liberal buzzwords like “inclusive” and “diversity” were batted about, at no time was God, Jesus, or the Bible ever mentioned.
Don’t worry. The UMC is playing Russian Roulette with an automatic.
Filthy lucre.
They dodged nothing. The majority of the U.S. congregations will leave and the United Methodist Church will cease to exist within a year or two.
Unfortunately I think the true result is not as the title suggests. Why?
(1) I think this UMC general conference was only a single battle, in a war that is not over yet.
(2) I think that if had it only been the North American branch of the UMC making the final decision, the decision would have had a clear majority going the other way.
(2) Schism will not be the first, next, or next choice for the Progressives among the UMC in North America. I think they left the general conference thinking “O.K., next time”.
(3) But schism will be the first and only preferred choice for the rest of the UMC globally, when it becomes that “next time”; which I believe will happen.
Just to let you know what the Methodist Gay radicles are about is simple. Everything you believe the Bible teaches about homosexuality is wrong. You will be told that it does NOT MEAN THAT. You will be told that you are intolerant an bigoted. These people have only one goal and that is to destroy everything they touch. They are as evil and as intolerant as any extreme Islamic militant. One could be forgiven thinking that they are on the same side; even though the Islamic’s seek to destroy every last one of them. Yes, we are pray for all, but not that they ever succeed, but that they may be awakened by the Holy Spirit; for they would not know Jesus if they fell over him.

Russian roulette? Automatic? Shot? Shhh...don’t say anything relating to guns...it’s against their religion.
I quit years ago but the liberal slant to everything is very prevalent even in the midwest. Young families who aren’t Catholic or “churched” see it as a generic sort of denomination to expose their kids to without any extreme stuff and the grayhairs who grew up in UMC operate out of habit and do-gooderism. I’d guess most UMC congregations are 80% democrat, maybe more now that the fag flag flies over most of them.
That's the case with most of the mainline denominations.
Still have to:
1. Get it though judicial committee to be declared constitutional,
2. Get through the next General Convention to keep from being overturns.
Then they can start kicking out the lefties that will refuse to leave.
