I tend to agree about the high sugar diet. My husband has suffered from arthritis and gout and he's only in his early 60's. We changed his diet to no grain, no sugar, drinking lots of water, and his arthritis is almost gone and he hasn't had a gout attack in over a year. Also no red meat or shellfish. I still eat red meat and shellfish, but other than that our diet is the same. He's lost 25 lbs also. Also, according to our wellness doc who helped him figure this out, the inflammation also affects blood vessels, and could cause strokes, heart attacks, etc.

I'm sorry about Luke Perry.

Looking at him, it’s hard to believe the guy was a chronic overeater/ carb binger. He looks like he weighed less at 50 than he had at 20. Probably in the fullness of time someone will tell us about his diet, but probably the announcement of his death is not really the proper time.

I have a physician friend that would lecture you for hours with reams of bonafide data that you’re full of crap.

Trans fats, man made engineered fats, certain plant fats, and highly processed carbs that promote metabolic syndrome are the artery cloggers. Animal fats actually counter arterioschlerosis.

Cholesterol is not a cause but rather an indicator of certain disease issues as it’s actually protective in multiple bodily functions.

Abnormally high cholesterol in the blood indicates inflammation for one thing which is highly correlated to heart disease.

Didn't pause to think one way or the other about Luke, until I watched him absolutely skunk Beau Bridges on 'Celebrity Jeopardy' a few years ago. RIP.

I don’t know which would be worse: that he was struck down in perfect health, or if he had some kind of substance problem that caused the stroke. Either way it’s just awful.

It’s amazing what getting rid of all sweet tasting foods will do. I agree. (Including all the sugar substitutes which still keep the sugar addiction going)
