If the 2020 election were held today President Donald Trump would win by a bigger margin than in 2016, carrying the most number of states since the Re-election of President Ronald Reagan.
I say this because like I did two years before Barack Obama was elected, I saw trends that added up to a significant win, I noted them in this column, and they occurred in near complete detail.
In 2016 with polls and every media pundit, and even many of his own supporters doubting the outcome of the election, I predicted the map that would match the election night result minus one western state and one congressional district in Maine.
As in those two cases I’m not claiming some sort of prescience. Rather I’m saying the momentum on the ground seems to tell us something different than perhaps what social media, old media, recent history or even traditional political logic would seem to indicate will happen.

Here’s some of what I see:
17 of 30 above 50. The latest Gallup polling data released this week indicates perhaps the most telling reason. President Trump won 30 states on election night. President Trump’s approval rating on the day he was sworn into office was 45%. For perspective Presidents Obama, Clinton, & Reagan were at 47%, 46%, & 40% finishing up February of the third year. All of them cruised to re-election. Trump’s approval in Gallup is 44% and continues to hover around 50% in Rasmussen where he spent almost the entirety of February. But in Gallup’s most recent survey the key is where his strength is centered. The top 30 states where President Trump’s approval is the highest, mirror the 30 states he carried on election night. -SNIP-

He’s got 90% approval rating among Republicans... that’s higher than ANYONE other than GWB during desert storm....
The thing to keep in mind is that TRUMP’s “BASE” is NOT the GOP BASE... and that’s why he won in 16 and why he will win huge in 20.
Trump and his policies appeal far far beyond the typical GOP base... if all Trump had was the GOP base he would have lost 16, because he would not have won a single state in the rust belt outside OH and IA...
Trump’s BASE will handily put him back in the White House.. its continues to grow.... Those that confuse TRUMP’s base, with the GOP base, don’t understand what is going on.
The GOP needs to learn from Trump, last thing Trump should ever do is follow the GOP’s lead.

Hillary only got about 60,000 less overall votes in 16 than Obama got in 12... Meanwhile, Trump got over 2 Million more votes than Romney did in 12! If you think Hillary did that without the same massive fraud dems always engage in you are the one living in denial.
Lets look at states KNOWN for fraud... PA for example where the fraud out of Philly is notorious around the world... Hillary got 64,000 fewer votes than Obama in 12, while Trump got 290,000 more votes there than Romney...
Now do you think that Dems didn’t fraud it up double time during 2016? You had LITERALLY a Republican who got 12-15% more votes than any previous GOP candidate there, and the Dem only lost 65k votes??? Be serious... the FRAUD went on full tilt just as always around PHilly...And it wasn’t scaled back...
This conspiracy theory notion that Dems didn’t go full tilt on fraud in 16 because hillary “had it in the bag” and will easily vanquish Trump in 2020 with it, is nonsense.
Dems cheat, they cheat EVERY election, but the idea they somehow cheated less in 16, and will come back screaming in 20 is completely agains the facts.
Chicken little away, but Trump isn’t losing 2020, and he sure isn’t losing it due to voter fraud.
Trump has managed to do something the GOP hasn’t been able to do in generations, actually reach voters and bring them to the cause... and he’s done it primarily fighting the GOP the entire time. Dems have gone off the deep end, whoever their candidate is, they have ZERO shot at taking out Trump... they are a sacrificial lamb who’s main job is to just keep the rank and file from becoming dejected so teh party doesn’t get clobbered down ballot... They have no shot at the white house...
Reality is, the serious D’s who honestly want the white house, will simply use 2020 to start setting up their national systems and support/donors/contacts, and bow out once they have done that... Using it to set the ground work from 2024, when the D may honestly have a shot at the win. No serious contender wants the crown this time... Because they know, whether they will admit it or not, they are heading into a buzzsaw.. and are going to crash and burn, and no one serious about the white house wants that millstone around their neck in 2024... So whoever winds up the D candidate will be a joke, and their sole purpose will be to keep the base engaged so they show up and keep the down ballot races from being a slaughter too.
I was going to make exactly the same point. The rabid left-wing Democrats who won in New Mexico last November are already changing the voting laws to allow any who get a driver's license automatically register to vote unless they check NO to opt out, and pushing for same day registration and voting. And NM lost the conservative NM-2 US House seat to a Dem in November due to ballot harvesting in Las Cruces, and that was with the existing law.

How could you tell? Were people checking voter registration of attendees as they entered?
Trumps BASE, is NOT the GOP BASE... and that is the thing that the politically naive and ignorant just don’t get....
It’s also why the LEFT/DEMS have no idea how to counter Trump...
HIs support is far outside traditional GOP voters... and by attacking his supporters they undermine themselves.

My understanding was that the ballot harvesting in Las Cruces was illegal, not than something will be done about it. The motor voter epidemic is certainly alive and well where D’s control the State’s Legislature.
Although new in the Senate...Tenn’s Senator (Marsha Blackburn) is one prime candidate. She has a business background and generally liked by most everyone in Tenn.
Lindsey Graham would have been a joke two years ago, but ever since McCain passed on, and Graham has been on some massive turbo blast in defense of Trump last fall...he might be someone to have around in a rough 2020 campaign period.
Ted Cruz could be brought up, but I think he bound to the Supreme Court between 2020 and 2024 (maybe RBG’s eventual replacement).
Finally, I came to view John James from Michigan in last fall’s Senate election (note: he didn’t win...missed by 7 points). He’s an Army Academy grad....business background...fairly smart, and 37 years old. In the black community, he’d openly challenge Democratic values. Did eight years in the Army. All-round five-star VP guy.
They cheated their usual amount in 2016 and it wasn’t enough.
They did not make that mistake in 2018, they ramped up the fraud and even flipped House seats AFTER election day.
Flimsey Grahamnesty is still a joke until he publicly repudiates amnesty.
Ted Cruz is not eligible.
I know the Ted-is-non eligible talk but he’s already ran run (2016 primary), and all that chat is mostly finished off now.
Graham, I think....is arranging thing to retire and let the SC Gov select Nikki Haley to replace him (spring 2020). He did surprise me in the fall of last year....taking down journalists and openly challenging Democrats comments.
