I was a rare Giuliani supporter in 2007-8 who didn't get banned. I said exactly what you just said.
Here was a very unusual politician who said he was going to do something "impossible", and then went ahead and did it.
I feel the same way about DJT. I grew up in NYC when he was a young man, and by the mid-80s he was the punchline of a joke.
But that was then.
I keep going back to the Lincoln-Grant analogy.
The story goes that Lincoln was pressured to remove Grant from command because of his drinking. It was unseemly!
Lincoln’s response - I cannot spare this man, he fights!
That’s how I feel about Trump. Don’t care about un-Presidential. We had eight years of G.W. Bush not responding at all to all sorts of unjustified attacks, acting Presidential, and what did that get us? Eight years of Obama.
I’ll take Trump, he fights.

Thank you for this comment. We are the resistance. The resistance has to fight out of sewers and do things that are usually frowned upon. That is our only way to win. Yet, some here still hold noses at etiquette offences like this is a parlor game. Amazing.

Profound to me because they see our nation’s foundation as built on shifting sand unworthy of support. They mean to tear down this crumbling house and put up their own.
