ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) Another large group of migrants was arrested early Tuesday after illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, marking the latest in a wave of Central Americans who have been apprehended in remote areas of New Mexico, authorities said Wednesday.
It's the second time in as many weeks that such a group has been encountered at Sunland Park. In mid-February, 311 people made their way around a pedestrian fence under the cover of darkness before being taking into custody. That was less than 24 hours after another group of 330 people were apprehended more than 150 miles (240 kilometers) to the west near the Antelope Wells port of entry.
More than two dozen large groups of 100 migrants or more have been apprehended in the region since Oct. 1, according to border officials.

Bold highlights are mine and bring up questions not answered in the article.
1. Fencing does no good if it ends at locations where illegals can make their way around it. Last fall I was on a train from San Antonio to LA. West of downtown El Paso across the Rio Grande in New Mexico, a new style slotted fence has been constructed westward from Anapra (in Mexico opposite from Sunland Park to some point in vicinity of Santa Teresa POE. The Railroad tracks are only 20 to 25 feet from the fence and clearly seen. However, the east end of the fence abruptly stops at a hillside leading up to a local mountain (Mount Cristo Rey) where a statute of Christ was erected in 1939.
2. If the groups were "primarily" families and unaccompanied children, who were the rest of them. Young male adults and gang members? Previously deported felons making there way back to the US? etc.

What does “Unaccompanied Child”mean?
Is that a an 7 year-old or a 17 yaear-old?
If it is a 7 year-old they should be placed in Child protective services and adopted out within 2 weeks. Their birth parents would, at that point lose ANY authority, or access to the child.
Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all!
They want to get arrested on US territory. They all claim asylum, stay “incarcerated” for a few days get fed, cleaned, clothed, medical care then appear before a Judge , get released on their own recognizance, given a hearing date and then disappear into the immigrant communities. Few if any will be actually deported.
Yes...
Bingeaux!
Catch and release still in effect.
Ryan and McConnell had 2 years to remedy this but chose to support the invasion rather than American citizens.
Under Federalism it would be New Mexico’s problem.
We need to stop playing games.
The trouble is, they arrest them and take them right to a hospital for a check up and then to the local welfare office. American criminals should be treated so well.
180 more Democrats, about to get Catch and Release.
The Republican Party says and does nothing to stop it.
Trump files useless court appeals and talks about building a Wall that will never be enforced after he leaves office.
Winning!
“”Last fall I was on a train from San Antonio to LA””
Clarify - Los Angeles or Louisiana
Migrants? Undocumented workers?
Stupid MSM is never honest. They're illegal a$$h*les, or in nicer words they're illegal invading aliens. The towns and cities are full of homeless people needing housing, food, jobs and services which are bankrupting working citizens, and the stupid leftists want more poor invading our nation? They're trying to make America into Mexico, a crowded cesspool of more homeless dirty folks!
Correction..these are ‘illegal aliens’...
Holy Smoke - the 3rd picture - what/where is that? Is that a drop off in front of those people - a trail or what? Is that Mexico to the left and NM to the right where the tracks are?
I wouldn’t care how bad things were where I lived if I had to face a trail like that...No way!!
How tall is the fence being built by the Army Corp of Engineers? Part of that is negated by the concrete footing, which gives a place to put feet or a ladder.
Theyre not migrants. Theyre illegal invaders
Once they set foot on the US side of the border they have won the battle.
Why do our laws make it easy for illegals to enter the US and and stay here?
Because that is what congress wants and has wanted for the last 50 years or more.
