Group running robocalls impersonating Trump's campaign has already raised more than $100,000

Ask them if you donate how much money actually goes to the organization they claim to represent. They are required to tell you.

If I have time I wait through their entire sales pitch before I ask.

Sometimes they tell me the percentage and explain how expensive the fund raising is. The last time the guy just hung up on me.

Just a few months ago, a disabled veteran raised MILLIONS of dollars through a GoFundMe in support of The Wall. I believe his fund raising ended with him being told that the Government could not accept those funds. Not sure what happened to all that money.

A non-profit was started and all the donors were offered the choice of getting a refund or transferring their donation to the non-profit. Over 90% transferred their donation.

⭐We are better equipped than our own government to use the donated funds to build an actual wall on the southern border.

I suspect that this group’s actions are illegal.

Fund the Wall is still taking donations. The new goal is to build the wall on land that is donated by the land owners. Government can’t stop it from happening. And yeah illegals can walk around the wall sections, but hopefully when all the illegals are channeled through certain areas, the owners will decide the wall doesn’t sound so bad.

What? People overpay deliberately on taxes on a regular basis. Is the problem that there can’t be strings attached?

Although there’s precedent for that too...it doesn’t happen so much any more, but government agencies used to compete for private research grants. I would argue they do it better than university professors...you get full-time employees working on the project.
