Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky says he will back a resolution that blocks President Trump’s declaration of an emergency at the southern U.S. border, giving it the votes needed to pass but not enough to turn back a presidential veto.
Mr. Paul, a Republican, announced his decision during a Saturday speech at Western Kentucky University, according to the Bowling Green Daily News.
“I can’t vote to give the president the power to spend money that hasn’t been appropriated by Congress,” Mr. Paul said. “We may want more money for border security, but Congress didn’t authorize it. If we take away those checks and balances, it’s a dangerous thing.”

I’m on Team Constitution.
The Constitution gives POTUS a veto over joint resolutions.
Say, is that a knife or a hatchet in my back. So rand. Is your estate unlocked 24/7/365 with ZERO security? You know, in case random folks feel like stopping in and having a meal. Maybe borrow you atm card for some cash. Take your car for a spin? No? Why not.
Congress gave the presidency the power to use the emergency declaration in 1976.
Where was he during the Iran payoff?
Where was Rue Paul when Obama issued National Emergencies?
Not a peep. Not a sound.
The money was appropriated, but never used. It’s there to be used in an emergency. The Constitution has no problem with the President using the powers given him by Congress in 1972.
The Constitution gives him the right because the Congress voted it to him. They have to take back the legislation and end the other national emergencies before they can end this one.
I think this is crazy. The presidents first priority is to protect the country. The wall is a foundational priority of the president.
Paul doesn’t know his ass from page 8. He said he was against the Iran agreement. Then he said Trump shouldn’t withdraw from the agreement.
I wonder who’s signing his checks...

One of President Trumps greatest achievements is exposing treasonous anti-American scum to daylight.
Explain that to the folks who have lost loved ones to these vermin illegals. Either through direct murder or indirect, as in illegal drugs.
He is following the law. The law exists. If Rand truly believes this he should be repealing the law that allows Trump to do this. There is nothing unconstitutional about it. Congress gave away this power years ago. They can take it back by passing a law though.
How any of these congress critters could not possibly understand that this is an emergency is beyond me

if I were the POTUS, I would invite Mr Paul into my office to meet the folks who have lost loved ones to the illegals. Let him explain that he is more important than the national security of the citizens of the nation.
