I think he’s trolling them with the tax returns. No way he has done anything illegal regarding taxes that the IRS wouldn’t have found a long time ago. I think he’s letting them spin themselves into another hole. I really hope he releases them on his own right before 2020 and lets them find out there is nothing illegal there.

The IRS can do exactly what the DOJ has done repeatedly...stall and refuse.
The Dems have made the country a battleground. They should become casualties, too. Every day a Dem should be targeted and they and what they hold most precious destroyed.
The public needs to see tax returns for every member of Congress.
Just submit your requests directly to the SC.
I like your take and I would go one step further and ask democrats if they believe the IRS is incompetent and not competent enough to throughly review tax returns. Ask the democrats if they want Lois Learner in charge of the IRS once more
You are correct. If the Treasury Department hands it over...possibly say five years worth....then you consider 250 pages for each submission as the minimum...it’ll take six months to read the entire box.
My best guess is that they want only one single thing....that he’s arranged a special loan with some bank at a rate that most people would never get. So then, they’d drag that mortgage lender in and demand more paperwork from them. If the lender is beyond the US border, then this will drag on for months.
There is the possibility suggested that he is not a billionaire. That his fortune is in the 500-to-900 million range, and then they can suggest that he’s less the man that he brags about. Last year, Forbes went and assessed Trump to be in the range of 3.5-billion dollars of value. So this suggestion is weak.
All in all...I’d say this is a trap that Trump has laid out, and once they divulge private and personal data...he’s got lawyers ready to sue in a civil suit, and you could be talking about millions in damages for mishandling private data.

Yep. And just like #MeToo, the tax return blowback is going to wind up taking out a bunch of crooked Democrat tax cheaters while President Trump emerges clean as a whistle.
They should lead by example and pass a law that all Congressional members and staff must release their tax returns, on a rolling 3 year basis.
