The cast of MSNBC's Morning Joe like to view themselves as the defenders of truth and justice in an age when such ideals are supposedly under attack by President Trump. Any presidential hyperbole is condemned as a lie, while their own hyperbole is speaking truth to power.
As part of their panel on the Michael Cohen testimony, the morning show had on Cohen's friend Donny Deutsch who resurrected the old, evidence-free talking point that if Trump were to be impeached or lose in 2020, he would not go peacefully.
Deutsch declared that in 2016, "When he thought he was going to lose, he was teeing it up for a few days." He then went on to claim that Trump could do, "Whatever inner move you think this guy is capable of doing to create a civil war." He then said with a straight face, "I'm not speaking hyperbole."
Co-host Willie Geist agreed that Trump would not accept the results of the election were he to lose, "Does anyone doubt that Donald Trump would do that, even if he loses a free and fair election, that he'll start talking about voter fraud."
Blowing straight by the fact that Democrats have been blaming their losses on voter suppression for years and, since 2016, blamed Russian Twitter troll bots for anything that does not go their way, Deutsch said that Geist's prediction was too tame, "I'm taking it to the next level. [Cohen] said he won't leave in a peaceful transition. That's different than saying 'This was unfair.'"
The cast of Morning Joe loves to bash Trump for comments about caravans or say that he does not do enough to condemn terrorist plots to attack journalists and Democratic politicians, but then turn around to outrageously claim the President would be willing to start a civil war to stay in power. Their irresponsibility and hypocrisy truly knows no bounds.
So you used to handle the other end of the food chain. Hmmmm. Takes nerve to time the market on that end, too.
Lotsa ulcers in the pits, I’ll wager, huh?
“Bounty in the morning. Bust in the evening.”
(I’ve watched “Trading Places”)
Last year was corn for us. The year before was soybeans.
Did alright.
You won’t ever get rich farming but you’re your own boss.
Old joke.
How do you make make a million dollars farming?
Start with TWO million dollars!”
The reason they despise the idea of the wall so much is that they know how much they deserve to be put up against it, and then be shot dead.
All Mr. President Trump has to do is send out one Tweet- or one radio broadcast, or one postcard- calling out the unorganized militia, and there'll be 5 million armed Americans, mostly veterans, ready willing and able to back him up.
I agree. If the President calls for help, he’ll definitely get it.
I had someone in a very interesting position inquire about such possibilities, and suggested to him that an initial manageable first effort would be about 2500 per state, with a followon plan of 5000 per state.
Hopefully the use of such an ad hoc force would be limited to a particular region, probably in or near multiple state lines and very possibly an international border. Command and control would be critical, but I suggested an Order of Battle and rank structure that has proven historically successful in the past. And included a few operational tips and techniques as well.
The contingency presented to me was one in which Homeland Security was hamstrung from operating and the Active military forces were otherwise engaged or declined to accept tactical assignments in CONUS.
As soon as he calls the militia out, I’m ready. I’ll be one of those revolutionary era chaplains. Guns and Bibles.
Good. I believe it was Napoleon Bonaparte who observed that God fights on the side with the best artillery! But I would prefer to have one of those with a more sincere faith offering intercessions on my behalf.
