Former Maine Gov. Paul LePage (R) said Tuesday that eliminating the Electoral College and electing a president based on the national popular vote would thwart the voice of white people.
"Actually, what would happen if they do what they say they’re going to, white people will not have anything to say," LePage, who served as governor from 2011 to 2019, said on the Maine radio station WVOM. "It’s only going to be the minorities that would elect. It would be California, Texas, Florida."
The former Republican governor made the comments as he discussed a bill currently being considered in the Maine legislature that would let Maine join other states seeking to bypass the Electoral college and award its electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote nationwide.
The state's Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on the national popular vote bill, which was sponsored by state Sen. Troy Jackson (D), on Friday, according to the Maine Beacon.
LePage denounced the idea of eliminating the Electoral College, saying that electing a president based on the popular vote would make Maine residents a "forgotten people."
“All the small states like Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Wyoming, Montana, Rhode Island, you’ll never see a presidential candidate again. You’ll never see anybody at the national stage come to our state," he said. "We’re gonna be forgotten people. It’s an insane, insane process."
"This is so insane. Why don’t we just adopt the constitution of Venezuela and be done with it," LePage continued. "Let’s have a dictator. That’s what you’re going to boil down to. You’re going to have five or six states that are going to control everything in Washington."
The comments from LePage came the same week Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) said he would sign a measure to let his state bypass the Electoral College in favor of the national popular vote.
Colorado is set to become the 12th state, in addition to Washington, D.C., to join a National Popular Vote interstate compact that wants to award its electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the popular vote.
The compact cannot go into effect until the coalition includes states that accumulate at least 270 electoral votes. States included in the coalition would award their electoral votes en masse to the candidate who wins the national popular vote if it were to go into effect.

I’ll have to rework my Hunger Games metaphor a bit. Maybe it will be Districts 1-8 providing everything to Capitol City as well as to Districts 9-11.
Although I’m guessing they would put the Northeast into District 1, so at least Maine would have that distinction.

If it goes into effect... Prediction:
1) If Trump or Pence or Rand shows a big lead in popular vote polling a week before the 2020 or 2024 election, blue state cities will burn with riots
2) If this coalition actually flips an election, red states will officially secede.

Imagine what would happen to tax revenue in the United States if all “white people” decided to go on strike.
He is right. As the invasion and unbridled immigration continues and whites become less and less percent of the population we will at some point be disenfranchised and worse. The verbal and physical attacks will continue and even increase. All groups but whites have political representation and lobbying groups. Who speaks for us? Who stands up for us? If we don’t start standing up for ourselves our grandchildren and maybe even before then will grow up in a hostile environment(imagine today on steroids) that will continue to heap scorn on the ‘oppressors’ and ‘colonizers’. they will justify it because of ‘racism’.
Electoral college was exactly meant to prevent the Yellow Vest mess in France today.
Mess with electoral college and we will get a civil war and cessessions.
Don’t you need an amendment to the constitution to get rid of the electoral college? I know that means nothing to the Rats though.
One thing the Mexican Constitution has that we should consider doing.Mexico has no hyphenated Mexicans.
They prohibit any reference to race when they conduct a census or issue any means of identification,Keep the race question out and off of the oncoming census questionnaire.
Where a physical description is needed skin color yes but not by race or nationality or tribal background.By doing this Mexico has avoided “balkanizing”, creating fractional disputes in areas where a given group in one of its states is a majority or a minority.
The Electoral College system is the firewall that protects us from massive vote fraud in states like Kalifornica.

That scheme will cause chaos the likes of which we have never seen before. There will be recounts, lawsuits, and more recounts for months after the actual election. Knowing the winner on the night of the election, or even the next day, will be a quaint memory of days past. It will be Floriduh 2000 on a national scale. There will be riots, cities will burn, and people will die.

What is the one percent that you think waa not on the mark?
Absolutely ludicrous. Theoretically, one party could win Maine 60% to 40%, but receive no electoral votes because the state gave them to the other party - whose candidate won the popular vote 50.1% to 49.9%. There would be very little motivation for any candidate to campaign anywhere but the most populous states.
