SEOUL, South Korea (AP) South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Friday his government plans to discuss with the United States the possibility of restarting joint inter-Korean economic projects to induce nuclear disarmament from North Korea.
Moon's comments during a nationally televised speech came a day after a high-stakes nuclear summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un collapsed over what the Americans saw as excessive North Korean demands for sanctions relief in exchange for limited disarmament steps...(snip)
..."I vow to help usher in an era of a peace-driven economy on the Korean Peninsula," said Moon, who preaches that South Korea should be in the "driver's seat" in international efforts to deal with the North. However, if the nuclear negotiations derail, Moon could potentially face a serious dilemma over whether to continue to engage with the North or join another U.S.-led pressure campaign against it.

How many years ago was Moon installed? The reason I ask is I recall a boat ride involved in that story and assertions that Moon is a Communist plant. This aspect of his story dropped from the news and hasn’t been told since. But I never forgot that Moon got in by nefarious means and cannot be trusted by S Koreans. Your reminding us of this fact today is why I am asking.
Absolutely nothing constructive will happen in Korea until the Chinese communist regime collapses. Historically, Korea has been split or controlled by China except during those times when China was in a state of political turmoil or civil war.
Bingo. He has been in power since 2017- turning his country into a mess and economic basket case as he kowtows to the Norths interests...he has thrown the former (conservative) President of South Korea...(the first woman at that) Park Geun-Hye In jail on the most trumped up charges ever. And he is attempting to play the U.S. for fool in all his diplomatic overtures and shenaningans.
Yes except during Cold War era, the USSR has far greater influence in the North and provided the basis and inspiration for their weapons program.
Agree!

Moon's greedy hands are showing.....Ha! He was all prepared to declare a New Day on the Korean Peninsula.....it didn't happen as he wanted.
In the long run, China does not want to see a major failure or war in NK, since they would have to absorb a large number of NK refugees in such a case. China is probably also annoyed that NK does not modify it’s Communism so that they can have the relative economic success that China has achieved through change.
Historically, most of the Communist satellites have looked to the farther power for aid and comfort. Albania worked with China, Vietnam with Russia, and as you said, NK with Russia. Nobody wants to enhance the power and influence with the elephant in their back yard.
