Washington Although the Federal Emergency Management Agency denied Puerto Rico's request to dispatch forensic units to Puerto Rico to help process a mounting backlog of bodies, the island's government has received a much-need reprieve. The fiscal board which controls spending in the U.S. territory will allow Gov. Ricardo Rosselló to use $1.5 million in funding to curtail the backlog in the island's morgue. (snip)
...he FEMA official said these issues could be not be "attributed" to the natural disasters that struck the island, which triggered the first DMORT deployment. "These and the other courses of action ... address systemic problems resulting from issues and shortcomings that pre-date the disasters and/or cannot be attributed to the effects of the disasters," Byrne said, presumably referring to hurricanes María and Irma.

SPOT ON; you nailed it!
Give PR back to Spain. I hear they may be short of a province soon.
If Cuba goes free so should P.R. I’m talking independence. Since the POTUS is from NY he has a ring-side seat as to what’s wrong with the place. The dealmaker in him will banish those with a rap sheet to leave NY/CONUS.
What does Cuba have to do with it? It is not our territory, it is Russia’s client state. I don’t think we should let them get access to Puerto Rico and its surrounding waters as well.
I suspect there have been many deaths after the disaster, just a natural state of things in the territory.
They want to get coverage tacked on to the disaster relief, and we’re not buying it.
Get your act together Puerto Rico.
Declare your independence... please.
A Cuba-P.R. working alliance. Cuban doctors and laborers move around like Europeans within the group. Economic growth. Release political prisoners and refill the gulag with our own real criminals at a lower $$ rate. Add Nicharagua. Just seep the MS-13 folk confined to that area.
I don’t see Spain as much of a threat to our dominance of this hemisphere. Puerto Rico already has the “international banking community.” Why can’t we cut them loose? Our foreign policy reasons for retaining PR don’t exist. There is no downside.
Cuba has a lot to do with it. Potential PLUS big problems coming to a head. Kill THREE birds with one stone. Maybe 4. Throw 2-3 stones! Remember Trump has only 6 years left.
Spain has a lot of unemployment. There’s something in it for them. European. They cn be the Kennedys-lol.
Right!?
I’ve said that Pompeo needs to meet with the Spanish ambassador and foreign minister.
“Yeah guys, that whole Spanish-American War thing, terrible mistake, we’re really sorry. In recompense, here’s Puerto Rico back. No hard feelings!”
They tend to speak the same lingo.
It’s a match made in Heaven.
We could give them Cuba too....
It would be nice if PR could take care of thier dead.
Reminds me of my wife’s ex. I made him the same offer.
DMORT? Somebody is being cutesy-shit with the acronyms again.
CC
Give New Mexico, Arizona and California back as well?
Plenty of dry pallets.
Proper stacking and spacing of corpses and firewood.
Lots of gasoline.
Long and deep trench already prepared.
Bulldozer to push all what remains into the trench.
Since theres not nearly as many deaths as the Left tries to claim, Im glad Trump chose to avoid this trap.
Trump should grant mandatory independence to Puerto Rico and appoint Ocasio-Cortez as their interim President.
