Finally, a story about a hate crime involving a MAGA hat that has a happy ending.
The woman who was arrested in Falmouth on Feb. 15 for allegedly assaulting a 23-year-old Mashpee man wearing a MAGA hat was again arrested Monday, this time by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as an illegal immigrant from Brazil who has been living illegally in the U.S. since overstaying a tourist visa in 1994.
Rosiane Santos. Falmouth Police Department ICE spokesman John Mohan said in a statement, “(Rosiane) Santos is currently facing local charges for assault and other offenses. She is presently in ICE custody and has been entered into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts.”
After her first arrest, Santos admitted to Channel 25, “I had a little bit to drink. Maybe that’s the reason that I couldn’t walk away, but being discriminated for so many times in my life, I just had to stand up for my life.”
The alleged victim, Bryton Turner, a Mashpee man, said in an interview on my radio show last week that in addition to assaulting him as he ate and repeatedly knocking the MAGA cap off his head, the suspect told the bartender, “Poison this kid’s drink.”
Turner said he joined some friends for dinner at the Casa Vallarta Mexican restaurant in Falmouth. He and his friends were sitting at the bar, as was the illegal immigrant.
“She started saying, ‘What does your hat say? What does your hat say?’ I told her and she said, ‘Why would you wear that hat here?’

I find this amusing that this bitch may get deported.
She bitches about how much she’s been discriminated against. What the hell is she doing in this country illegally then?
Send her back to the slums of Rio or Sao Paulo, where she will not suffer all this American discrimination she is so frustrated about.

It’s sad that at most she will merely get deported. She had a 25 year run of violating our laws and, being massachusetts, she probably won’t even face charges for her assault. She’ll be able to leave with whatever assets she acquired while here illegally.

May get deported. Or most likely not get shown the door. We’ll end up paying for her lawyer and for her, her kids, her, grandkids, her 193 illegal relatives, her illegal neighbors, dog walker and manicurist.

I see the whole issue differently. We should be GLAD it happened in Massoftwoshitts, and that they won’t likely prosecute her. That will shorten the time she has left here. The worst punishment she could receive is to have to go back to Brazil after being here a quarter century. I just hope ICE is waiting for her at the jailhouse door when she’s released! I’d love it if she were to have to rent a U-Haul and drive herself and whatever she has all the way home!

I hope this criminal will be deported and permanently barred from reentering our country. All illegals should be deported. No exceptions. Those who commit other crimes while here should never be allowed to return.

Whatever floats your boat! We made a serious mistake allowing our third and last child go to Boston University to study “Performance Music” (Opera). A magna cum laude degree, $200k, and ten years later, she’s working as a marketing assistant. And we’re stuck with the bill.

I have one son graduating from my Alma Mater (NC State) this spring with a degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, and another one about 1-1/2 years away from a degree in Exercise Science/Nutrition out at BYU.
George Orwell was a genius, one who came up with “thought crime” and even “face crime”, but even he couldn’t stretch his imagination far enough to come up with “hat crime”.
The progression is clear:

All crimes. How you feel, what you wear, what you find funny. One false move and your life is destroyed.
I don’t want the US to become known as the place to go where, if you commit a crime, the most that will happen is repatriation.
‘Going home’ to a place where many vacation isn’t much of a deterrent, even after 25 years.
I once knew someone from brazil in MA who I later learned was here illegally. She worked in HR - the person I needed to show my passport and I-9 to in order to prove I was eligible to work.
