A Maryland Democratic lawmaker apologized to the states Legislative Black Caucus Monday after calling a district in Prince Georges County a n***** district.
Del. Mary Ann Lisanti, who is white, was approached by the caucus regarding her alleged remarks Monday night, after news broke that Lisanti had said the racial slur at a cigar bar in Annapolis, Maryland, while speaking to a colleague, who was also white, after work late one night.
The Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland chair, Del. Darryl Barnes, said Lisanti apologized multiple times but also added he thinks anyone who uses the word is a reflection of whats in their heart, The Washington Post reported.
She apologized several times, Barnes, a Democrat, said. She recognizes how she has hurt so many within the caucus, and she hoped to repent from this. She said that she doesnt remember fully what happened, but she recognizes what happened.
I do think that someone who uses the word, its a reflection of whats in their heart, Barnes said.
Lisanti was reportedly questioned about the use of the racial slur in early February. She denied ever using the word but also said she did not remember much of that night. Lisanti also said she is sure she has used the racial slur before in her life.
I dont recall that. I dont recall much of that evening, Lisanti said to The Washington Post. She was also asked if she had ever used the racial slur before. Im sure I have. Im sure everyone has used it. Ive used the f-word. I used the Lords name in vain, she said.
Maryland Democratic House Speaker Michael E. Busch condemned the comments, saying Lisanti should face the consequences of her behavior and that there is no place in the House of Delegates for any racial slurs or slurs of any kind in society in general. Barnes said it is possible the Black Caucus gives other recommendations to House leadership about Lisantis position in the state House.
I dont recall much of that evening, lol. In vino veritas...
“All is forgiven, my brotha!”
I dont recall .....I dont recall .....I dont recall .....I dont recall .......Where have we heard THAT before?....................
She “hurt” them. Does anyone believe that adult politicians are “hurt” by a stupid comment? Wish we’d stop playing these fantasy games.
Our guy was axed owing to the one-time use of the MADE-UP word, MACACA.
Poof..!
He was gone.
Words. Big deal.
Sistah!.....................
was she wired?? who snitched her out? Her colleague?
When you are a ‘public official’, the walls have ears and eyes....................
That district has its own navy.
All a Commie has to do is say “Im sorry, Ive learned so much I will know better in the future” and ALL is forgiven..had she been a Republican she would have had to resign and it would have been national news for days
Just no longer care. Really don’t. A ship that is CONSTANTLY at general quarters becomes complacent and men are soon snoozing in the gun tubs.
America has been on red alert for N words, slurs, un-PC verbiage, insults, hurt feelings, etc for so long that I simply do not care.
Sue me.
the bartender then. what a bunch of horsepoop.
After I read this on a local Maryland TV website this morning, I just had to find a YouTube clip of the rapper DMX singing the signature song from the movie “Any Given Sunday”. It’s about the NFL and the song is a classic. Anyone remember it?
It pretty much is and has been for a good while.
If she apologized three times, why is the word “allegedly” in the headline?
It’s filled with naggers ?
So who ratted her out?
