Cohen to Testify That Trump Engaged in Criminal Conduct While in Office
WSJ ^ | 26 Feb 2019 | Rebecca Ballhaus and Warren P. Strobel

Posted on 02/26/2019 3:04:58 AM PST by oblomov

Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former lawyer, will for the first time publicly accuse the president of criminal conduct while in office related to a hush-money payment to a porn star, a person familiar with his planned testimony before Congress said.

Appearing on Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee, Mr. Cohen also will make public some of Mr. Trump’s private financial statements and allege that Mr. Trump at times inflated or deflated his net worth for business and personal purposes, including avoiding paying property taxes, the person said. The financial statements were developed by Mr. Trump’s accountant, the person said. The Wall Street Journal hasn’t seen those statements.

Mr. Cohen is expected to recount racist remarks Mr. Trump allegedly made to him, including instances in which Mr. Trump allegedly questioned the intelligence of African-Americans and criticized their lifestyle choices, the person said.

Mr. Cohen’s planned testimony comes 13 months after The Wall Street Journal first reported that Mr. Cohen paid $130,000 in October 2016 to former adult-film star Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels, to buy her silence after she alleged having a sexual encounter with Mr. Trump.

And, if Trump does try and respond, he may be accused of obstruction of justice, for threatening or intimidating a witness.

The hounds are still trying to take down the stag, and don’t care how they do it.

Lock him up and throw away the key. He tries to sing like a song bird but merely croaks like a crow, which he eats daily.

it’s the ‘What do I need to say to stay out of prison?’ Question.

So are you saying Trump hired Cohen to purposely conduct shady and/or illegal deals for him?

Because if that’s the case, I’d say you do not “know” that, but are merely speculating it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that doesn’t make it a fact, nor what I wrote wrong.

I’m sure you agree.

"All politicians spend money to effect an election, to use the prosecutor’s language."

Wasn't there recently a big deal made about a fund that was setup for Washington politicians designed to make payoffs for "Bimbo Eruptions.?"
The complaint was it was basically tax dollars they were using to pay prostitutes..?

“I am aggressive on all taxes and openly question the lifestyle “

No kidding. I wish they would name one person in this country that would willingly pay the government a penny more than they have to.

I didn’t know commenting on people’s poor choices in life is a crime. I think when I am paying for people’s poor life choices with my taxes, I should be entitled to comment about it.

No -- I'm saying Cohen was hired for things that had nothing to do with legal work.

It's not uncommon in the real estate business. Big players in real estate do this all the time ... to make deals (even perfectly legitimate ones) behind the scenes through an intermediary who protects the client through lawyer-client privilege.

Yeah, and what ever came of that?! Did we ever get the list of names that used tax payers money to pay for their miscreant sexual misconduct?

We could go on forever about government officials that have broken NUMEROUS AND SERIOUS laws with ABSOLUTELY NO CONSEQUENCES.

POTUS is so far back in the line that there is no use wasting time on this BS.

“avoiding property taxes, inflating or deflating net worth for business and personal purposes. “

Well obviously Trump probably had his properties re-assessed on a regular basis in order to challenge a municipality’s overvalued property assessment. That is a legal, rational and ethical way of reducing property taxes and reducing net worth. Trump would have used a lawyer for that.

But since Trump did it,it’s a crime!

OK, understood.

However, Trump’s enemies (starting with the press) will conflate this with Trump purposely hired Cohen to do specific illegal things for him.

They certainly will NOT tell the public this is common practice in the real estate business.

Is it racist to say blacks are dumb to stay on the democrat party plantation?

Is it illegal to read tax laws in your favor?

Is it legal for a lawyer to reveal his protected dealings with a client?

Cohen is contemptible

“And Trump holds the FISA declas over their heads and so much more.”

After more of this staged Stasi-in-America hit job, I have no doubts what President Trump will do when the Russia Collusion Hoax Mueller scam investigation is buried.

There ain’t going to be any Democratic Party anymore.

OO, I know, I know something too....

He also criticizes the lifestyle of MS13...

and he tries to keep it secret by shouting it out at rallies.

I was feeling a little sorry for Cohen, BUT, that’s all over

Amazing that Hillary knows more about what he’s going to say than we do. That is because of his/her attorney, Lanny Vines. You really cannot make that #$^&* up.

Also, was this planned because they knew Trump would be out of the country. They can do their smear campaign and he won’t have the opportunity to defend himself.
