Journalistic malpractice or just fear? Teasing the upcoming segment with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel on today's Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski said:
"Still ahead, Chicago police blasted Empire actor Jussie Smollett last week, accusing him of staging a hate crime because he was unhappy with his salary. We'll get Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's reaction to the alleged incident, next on Morning Joe."

The question arises: What happened during the commercial break between Mika's tease and the interview itself? Did Emanuel, in his tough-guy persona, perhaps inform the hosts that he would accept no questions about Smollett?

I am already so tired of the messaging from the left that the Smollett fraud is really damaging because it detracts from all the real hate crimes out there.
I contend that real hate crimes are far and few between and that the vast majority of them are hoaxes.
I just have more faith in Americans and give them more credit than these true haters do, I guess.
I tune in and out in the AM to hear what the enemy is up to, the hate is enormous.
I think like myself it was a hook to get us to watch the segment.
I saw he was coming up so I stayed to watch, nothing.

My guess is that Rahm went Mr. Tough Guy and told them in no uncertain terms he wouldn’t answer any questions.
If they used Smollett as a hook to get viewers, but knew they weren’t going to ask any questions about him, that was journalistic fraud.
By the way, glad to get your confirmation that there was nothing about Smollett. I was worried that somehow I had missed something, which would make my blog item look very bad!
