Wilfred Reilly is an associate professor at Kentucky State University where he teaches political science. Reilly has a piece at USA Today which is based on a forthcoming book he is writing on hoax hate crimes. His conclusion is that these crimes happen far more often than people think:
Doing research for a book, Hate Crime Hoax, I was able to easily put together a data set of 409 confirmed hate hoaxes. An overlapping but substantially different list of 348 hoaxes exists at fakehatecrimes.org, and researcher Laird Wilcox put together another list of at least 300 in his still-contemporary book Crying Wolf. To put these numbers in context, a little over 7,000 hate crimes were reported by the FBI in 2017 and perhaps 8-10% of these are widely reported enough to catch the eye of a national researcher
Still, the total number of violent crimes in the U.S. in 2017 was 1,247,321 (that doesnt include 7,694,086 property crimes). So in the scheme of things 7,100 hate crimes is not a huge number, which is obviously a good thing.
It would be interesting to know what span of time the 409 cases Prof. Reilly identified covers. The most interesting part of this piece is the suggestion that only about 10% of reported hate crimes generate much news.

Does a hate crime have to have racial slurs or signs???
Does anyone know if their are more ‘hate’ crimes or black on white crimes?
Hoax is how the Left monetize a lie.
Yup, and why? Because we don’t prosecute the hoaxes as hate crimes.
And what is monetized is propagated.
If you read the Matthew Shepherd hate crime legislation, which ironically was passed based on a fake hate crime, you’d be amazed at what constitutes a hate crime. It’s a pretty broad definition.
Last year there were less than 70 hate crimes in the State of California.
Real hate crimes in the United States are few and far between...
There's lots of ‘hate complaints, micro aggressions and dog whistles" - - which are little more than ‘chip on the shoulder’ BS...
But as far as real HATE CRIMES? Charged, prosecuted, proved in are court of law??? - almost none. Tucker had the numbers on his show last night. Facts are going to be a game changer.
The black community has been faking their pity parties for decades.
What abut the hoaxes that WERE prosecuted as “hate crimes”, and the hoax was not revealed until much later, if ever?
Would there ever be any redress for those accused and prosecuted under “hate crime” statutes, when in fact they were innocent but railroaded?

By now most of us think these things are pretty common. Most are never reported so we don't know how extensive they are but we suspect and believe.
Did you add Michael Brown and Travon to the list of great racial hoaxes.
black on white crimes are astronomical and dwarf the so-called Hate-Crimes. Interestingly enough, few of the black on white crimes are ever considered “hate-crimes”.
In that shooting, ex-employee Omar Sheriff Thornton killed eight innocents plus himself with a Ruger pistol.
The attack commenced as Thornton was being escorted from the property after having been fired for stealing beer; the thefts had been recorded by a video surveillance system.
Thornton claimed he had "seen" a picture of a noose drawn on a bathroom wall, along with a racial epithet. Most of the employees at the Hartford Distributors warehouse were white, although there were several African-American employees also. Two of the A-A employees stated that they had not experienced racism on the job, and knew of no noose or other racist pictures or words in the bathroom or elsewhere.
at Claremont college in soCal a woman professor spray painted racial epithets on her car. That was about 4 years ago. Fake hate crime.
Another, larger, list of fake Hate Crimes.

Now white on white, black on black, white/black, black/white should all be decried. When we make distinctions about the inherent hatred of the cases, it almost begs for these hoaxes to be perpetrated.
Thanks Hojczyk. Good rule of thumb is, if the media covers something as a hate crime, it's a hoax. If the media smears kids participating in March for Life, the smear is an actual hate crime.
Try to find out how many whites are raped, injured, or killed by blacks in a week.
Youd better pack a lunch if youre going to try.
