Cohen Gave Prosecutors New Information on the Trump Family Business
MSN News ^ | 2/22/2019 | BEN PROTESS, WILLIAM K. RASHBAUM and MAGGIE HABERMAN

Michael D. Cohen, President Trump’s former lawyer and fixer, met last month with federal prosecutors in Manhattan, offering information about possible irregularities within the president’s family business and about a donor to the inaugural committee, according to people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Cohen, who worked at the Trump Organization for a decade, spoke with the prosecutors about insurance claims the company had filed over the years, said the people, who did not elaborate on the nature of the possible irregularities.

It appears that Federal prosecutors are illegally leaking confidential Grand Jury information to the New York Times.

Further down in the article is this sentence:

"There was no indication that Mr. Cohen, who is scheduled to begin serving a three-year prison sentence in May, implicated Mr. Trump in the possible irregularities discussed during the meeting last month."

As if lawyers did not need to sink lower in how they are viewed by the public. Be someone’s lawyer, then after you are fired, try to get him in trouble with the law.

How can this not be attorney client privileged? Very very hard to see it any other way.

A lawyer can’t participate in a crime or let a client physically harm someone. Other than that, it’s strictly off limits.

“according to people familiar with the matter.“

Because unnamed sources have such a great track record for accuracy.

I know this came from an MSN feed, but the article itself is from the NYT’s

The MSN news feed is predictably 99% anti-Trump, 95% anti-Republican

I do not understand why this guy isn’t going to jail for violating just about every attorney ethics rule in the book. Are the New York bar authorities such trumphaters that they’re willing to stand by and watch this clown publicly attack his former client???

So why is it that Trump can’t say, “Hey, this guy received privileged communications as my lawyer, you cannot have them.”

Why can’t Trump get a restraining order against Cohen testifying about such privileged information? I know that Trump didn’t do anything wrong (he’s been under everyone’s microscope for decades), but this is a matter of principle.

There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

This attorney guy has no business going to prosecutors or investigators (or anyone else) and “revealing” information about his former client or his former client’s businesses

there are laws and rules against lawhers ‘ratting on their clients’
I guess if he’s going to prison, he doesn’t care about losing his license to practice law...

ROTFL. This little whinyass girlyman will say anything to keep his ass out of prison. He shouldn’t get the snowflakes’ hopes up. This coup thing has been a giant disappointment to them.
