I remember watching the local news around 1974 or 75 and a story came on about a guy who had a family butcher shop in North Jersey. He decided he was going to start selling horse meat steaks,roasts,and grinds. All legal then at the time. His family received death threats,they threw rocks through his shop windows,fire bombed his store,and there was a crowd in front of his store everyday protesting. He finally went out of business.

There are cultures that eat what we consider pets.(including many Native-American Tribes).

Many government Dog Pounds and animal shelters that . . . uh . . . put animals to sleep(kill/waste) could turn a profit by selling such unwanted animals to those cultures that would put them to use.

After all, all that lives eventually becomes food for something else that lives, that’s just biology.
