Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe said Tuesday that none of the top eight congressional leaders objected when he briefed them in 2017 on the bureau's decision to open a counterintelligence investigation into President Trump.
"The purpose of the briefing was to let our congressional leadership know exactly what wed been doing," McCabe, who was the acting FBI director at the time, said during an interview on NBC's "Today" show.
McCabe acknowledged that he ordered the investigation, but pushed back against suggestions that he'd acted alone in doing so. He said that he consulted with his team, reviewed it with bureau lawyers and discussed it with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein before moving forward.
"And I told Congress what we had done," he said.
"No one objected," he added in the interview. "Not on legal grounds, not on constitutional grounds and not based on the facts."
The New York Times first reported last month that the FBI launched an inquiry into whether Trump was working for Russia after the president fired former bureau chief James Comey. McCabe took over as acting director after Comey's ouster.
The "Gang of Eight" consists of the top two leaders from each party in each chamber of Congress. Representatives around the time of the 2017 meeting would have included Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), then-Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and then-House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

If this is true, ALL heads should roll. Even McCain, dig him up....
Yep, it makes sense.
Thanks for posting this.
This meeting may have happened or didn’t happen as per the link below.
It is probably a safe bet that every republican on that committee and others were told about this bs verbally or shown it, in a one to one private discussion during or after the 2016 election.
Why! Simple, to poison any relationship that president elect Trump, might have had with these people.
Gonna have to build a bigger PRISON!!!
GET TO WORK YOU LAZY BASTURDS!
They ALL need to be in PRISON! ALL OF THEM!
Precisely what he’s doing. He’s getting out in front of a hanging offense.
Why do I have my doubts this is true?
That’s how I see it as well: The Comey-McCabe-Rosenstein-Brennan-Clapper-Rice-Jarrett CIA-FBI-NSA-WH-DOJ cabal used this to “ocer their tracks” by telling Congress they were investigating Trump. But not HOW they had manufactured evidence and meetings and files to “justify” WHY they started ivnestigating Trump!
Comey testfied that Congress was not notified. Which liar to believe?
McCabe would be perfectly fine filling mass graves, provided that no one vigorously objects. This guy is a major-league stool sample and belongs in prison.
btt
These coup plotters mislead the Gang of Eight just as they misled the FISC and the American people...
Bump!
“This crime extends across party lines.”
You have major players, bit players, people that knew things but kept their mouths shut. A lot of people squirming to survive.
A complex brew.
The Trump team will want to expose some and force others to do their bidding.
So is that the meeting where they voted for McCain to leak the pgony dossier?

Nunes was recused for about 9 months. Mike Conaway from Texas took his place until Nunes was cleared.
Absolutely Correct.
But these are not petty crimes, these are high crimes that were committed.
Expose em all.
“No one objected,” he added in the interview. “Not on legal grounds, not on constitutional grounds and not based on the facts.”
Based on facts??? Did he reel off some facts for the patriotic gang of eight?
Anyone ever notice that the “facts” are never ever, not ever, spelled out.
When the weasel mentioned to Scott Pelley that he was opening the investigation of Russian collusion, would that not have been a good time for Pelley to interrupt and ask for just a tidbit of evidence?
