Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave his role at the Justice Department by mid-March, a senior DOJ official told Fox News on Monday.
An announcement of who has been selected to replace Rosenstein could come as early as this week. A Trump administration official added that Attorney General William Barr has picked Jeffrey Rosen to serve as his deputy attorney general.
Fox News reported in January that Rosenstein was expected to step down in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition for Barr, who was sworn in on Thursday.

Seems like we've heard similar for far too long with not even a parking ticket going their way. The Swamp is deep and wide, and that useless traitor Sessions ensured it got dredged instead of drained.
Different Rosen
If Trump had wanted him gone a year ago, he would have been gone a year ago.
We’re looking at a deep game, except it’s not a game.
Nope, not another peep or sound except the rope snapping his worthless puny little neck.
Oh, is that right?
“Expected to” has the same effect with me as saying, “bombshell”
He should have been gone a long time ago. Trump has accused Rosenstein of “illegal and treasonous” activity. Reports of Rosenstein offering to wear a wire and record Trump have been known for a long time. Yet for some reason Trump never took any action against Rosenstein and allowed him to remain in DOJ for almost 2 years.

The reason is our back-stabbing, worthless Congress who attempt to control (or at least distract) Trump by threatening to impeach him if he dares stand up for himself by removing these traitorous vermin from our Government.
Rosenstein then must risk his pension against perjury.
This practice should be followed for all the other issues.
Hopefully, he’ll retire in an orange jumpsuit.
He MUST go to PRISON!!! He is still trying the COUP!!
Yes, I question Trump’s player selection. He sucks at it. Apparently, 2 of his cabinet members were in on the coup attempt. Now, this Barr character and Rosen? I just don’t get it.
That Rosen still not a great choice. He’s spent a lot of time at a big law firm. They are the worst. Look at Wray. He’s a do-nothing FBI Director who was placed there to cover for his “big law” partner Sally Yates who after her post at WH went back to King & Spalding where she and Wray were law partners. I worked in their NYC law office. A red flag went up for me as soon as I saw Trump picked Wray. Wish Trump would go with his gut and not his “advisors”.
Boy, doesn't that say it all about government employees! Worked for 30 years and then became a government employee.
Im scared what he knows since Trump didnt fire him right away.
Theres nothing for him to know since the President didnt commit a crime. Mueller and Rosenstien were never a direct threat to the President.
Their plan all along has been to act like they had something, scare him and his supporters, thus provoking him into firing them, or otherwise using his executive authority to shut down the investigation.
This kind of Nixonian overreaction by a President could have (and would have) easily been spun by the media as obstruction of justice, abuse of power, executive overreach, etc.. The President would have appeared desperate and yes, guilty - thus creating the optimal political climate for impeachment and removal.
Except President Trump never took the bait - despite immense pressure from all sides - even many of his own supporters - he knew exactly what they were up to and just kept walking past their traps.
Step down and then hang for treason.
Unbelievable.
Let the traitors continue in their governmental jobs.
Let the high criminals and those committing treason continue to operate freely in DC, the land of high crimes and treason.
Treason is not a political affiliation. Treason is not a politic choice. Treason is not a Democratic operation.
Unbelievable.
“Different Rosen”
Either you are misinformed or trying to protect Trump. The Rosen I referred to is the one just appointed. A Hard-Core Leftist Hack. The Rosen you mentioned is from Santa Clara, California.
Ok. I'll bite.
Show me the hard core leftist activism.
Another RINO...at best.
Excerpt from Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Rosen
“Rosen’s articles assessing the Supreme Court have been ideologically unpredictable. He strongly denounced Bush v. Gore, but supported the nomination of Chief Justice Roberts and opposed that of Justice Alito. He supported Sotomayor’s confirmation.”
