CIA has been in the Drug smuggling business since NAM when they were importing Black Tar Heroin.
Those Poppy Fields in the M.E. were not burned because they were Used as Regime Change tools. Lesser of 2 evils is still evil.
There is one other major reason they are fighting the wall being built. The Census. They need as many illegals as they can get as the illegals tend to concentrate in areas that will enable Congressional districts created based on raw population without any discount for non-citizens. Swings the electoral college in their favor and enables Democrat controlled districts to be formed with substantially smaller numbers of actual voters.
Well... first let's acknowledge the original Nathan Bedford Forrest was a lifelong Democrat, and never apologized for that.
So our poster here honors Democrats in his screen name.
Second, it's a simple fact that Conservative and Libertarian values overlap in many places, but drug law enforcement may not be one of those.
Libertarians like Nathanbedford make a reasoned case that as a matter of morals and effectiveness, anti-drug laws are upside-down and counterproductive.
By contrast, Conservatives believe that anything we can do to protect & defend our fellow citizens against the scourge of illegal drugs is a good thing.
We mourn any definitely-known corruption and ineffectiveness of law enforcement, but the alternatives of wide open access to the most addictive drugs seems like a form of national suicide, and therefore unacceptable.
Of course, for men like Nathan Bedford Forrest, who fought for years to destroy the United States, national suicide may be an acceptable alternative.
But not so much for those who wish to put Americans first and make America great again.
yardestrk: " He is right that the drug runners have won.
Most of the country is on some kind of drugs.
Further he is right about the eternal corruption of those in power.
If that makes you uncomfortable, too damn bad.
Deal with it.
Dont start calling names.
Sign of idiocy."
Sure, if you sincerely wish to destroy the United States, then I can't think of a better way than completely open borders and unrestricted drug addition.
But if you love your country, if you want to put it first & make it great, then open borders & unrestricted drugs are not the way to go, FRiends.
It’s not yardsstrk its wildstreak spelled yldstrk, get it? And I also happen to think if you want to fry your brain in an opium den or a bar, that is your business. We help drug dealers by making it illegal. On the other hand, I believe in strong borders.
Most, shall we say “recreational” users....some coke and pot on week-ends or the newer heroin/fentanyl users who got into it because their pain pills got shut off, folks who otherwise seem to function “normally” most of the time would often call themselves compassionate, go along and get along sort of people. They view themselves as folks who never would hurt a fly. Then you remind them of the blood they have their on their hands. Why? They might ask...
By using the drugs, they are ultimately bank rolling the pushers and the supplying cartels who have murdered and maimed untold thousands in their quest to supply drug addled Americans with their fixes. Part of the money they pay to snort their coke or to inject their heroin may have also involved the loss of a journalist’s life or left a cop dead and a family without their father and provider.
And that is why we must fight the drug wars. But we must clarify the terms. As soon as politicians start being painted with the Pelosi style “immorality” of the blood of innocents slaughtered in the drug wars because they won’t go along with border controls, only then might you see movement. Illicit drug users need to be shamed as well as offered help to get off the drugs, but they need to understand the blood on their hands as well.
We might need to live with folks, especially older folks being given extra opiates legitimately prescribed for pain. The schizoidal policies we have right now politically in dealing with pain may cause political disruptions eventually. Many live with intractable permanent pain but denying good treatments for pain out of fear that some will abuse them and overdose on them is not a good solution and may end becoming a political blowback on the politicians pushing these policies.
We do have a national drug problem; we need to clean our addicts up rather than to allow the murder of folks by money grubbing cartels(and perhaps by our swamp state rogue agencies) south of the border to continue to pour the blood of these murdered victims on our national character!
Apparently El Chapo is singing like a canary about all the politicians he paid off.
A resounding YES !
If you have a couple of moments I invite you to have a look at my ABOUT PAGE in the hope that that might ease your mind concerning the use of the name and avatar.
Libertarians like Nathanbedford
I have always characterized myself as a conservative with a pesky libertarian streak.
the alternatives of wide open access to the most addictive drugs seems like a form of national suicide, and therefore unacceptable.
It seems to me that we are certainly in the throes of wide open access to the most addictive drugs. As suicidal as a national drug problem might be (think about alcoholism in Russia) it seems that we are risking tyranny, accepting corruption, undermining respect for the rule of law, squandering our treasury. But we are still committing national suicide because we are demonstrably unable to shut open access to the most addictive drugs. You're getting the worst of both worlds.
open borders
Who in the world around here is advocating for open borders?
p
Rapid wealth accumulation is such a tantalizing temptation for the professional politician.
Clinton sold out America in so many ways it is not even a question. Obama too. The only thing surprising to me is the Bush admin doing this purposely.
Did they name names? We need to know who is responsible for this "secret agreement" so we can prosecute them, and if that fails they can start having "accidents" or just disappearing.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reasons. -Mark Twain
TERM LIMITS!
Why is El Chapo in the pokey then ? He’s Sinaola Cartel ..... deals with the government or deals with criminal polidiots in the government ??? He didn’t get a deal evidently .

have you moved?
Finally! This was becoming more and more obvious.
This is why we have tolerated illegal immigration and a porous border.
Death to traitors!
“... so we can prosecute them, and if that fails they can start having “accidents” or just disappearing. “
Of course, you do see how easily THAT “solution” could be corrupted.
LOL
I’m really not sure what you’re referencing but I still find myself laughing. :)
