Sen. Tammy Duckworth, Illinois Democrat, on Sunday said she believes there are enough votes in the Senate to pass a resolution disapproving of President Trumps recent emergency declaration the White House says will allow him to tap unspent money to construct a border wall.
I think we do, Ms. Duckworth said on ABCs This Week. Now, whether we have enough for an override and veto, thats a different story.
But frankly, I think theres enough people in the Senate who are concerned that what hes doing is robbing from the military and the [Defense Department] to go build this wall, she said.
Under the National Emergencies Act, Congress can pass a resolution disapproving of Mr. Trumps emergency declaration.

Well, if she is right, the Senate is a declared enemy of America. Citizens should plan accordingly.
Now is the time to start seeking out their replacements.
So the fake tuff chik thinks it’s a winning platform to be against national security?
Guess she won’t be hyping the Air Cav BS anymore.
Agree. Senate President can stop it from coming to the floor for a vote.
The willful and wanton destruction of this nation ..
and the DEms are 110% for it happening.
This from a war vet? A moderate leftist?
or just another colluding activist in drag as a US rep. ?
As time goes by, some things become abundantly apparent.
There is no middle ground for the Left.
I hate Lamar with a passion. He’s going to be like Corker until he leaves in Jan 2021. Won’t shut the hell up.
Because he looked the President in the eye and lied through his teeth.
As corrupt and stupid as the GOP is I doubt they would want to lose the next election over this (and probably all future elections when Dems legalize every person south of the border).
> “... what hes doing is robbing from the military and the [Defense Department] to go build this wall, she said.”
Wow, “robbing from the military” to have the US Army Corps of Engineers build a structure for national security.
Bush League Republicans MUST become extinct before the Republic does.
As much as I think she’s an idiot, Duckworth was an Army officer who was wounded pretty bad. She may be a lunatic on the Left, but she has walked the walk, unlike so many others.
Good point.
If he can prevent the resolution from the vote and allows it he is stabbing Trump in the back.
And remember this article is based on what Duckworth said, maybe she’s flapping her gums.
Hey Mitch!
Let’s hurry up and have THIS vote!
To hell with the show vote on the GND. Move this one to the front of the line.
We conservative nationalists want to see who all the traitors are in the Republican party. We want names. On the record names.
I double dog dare them. They never will as it is pointless. The Prez will veto. The Congress f’ed themselves on the national emergency law.
also the sisters Alaska’s murky and Maine’s twitchy plus Alexander, Rubio, Portman, and the perennial favorite, Paul. That’s six. seven/eight more needed to over-ride a veto.
Yes, they do.
But they don’t have the votes to override a veto.
Nice try Donald Duckworth.
I wish the turtle would declare a nuclear option and bring this resolution to the floor for a vote. Then we would see who the traitors are in the Senate.
I will be watching both of my wobbly GOP Senators. One guy claims he is retiring, but the other guy would be the most likely to turn on Trump (Kansas).
Well said, she’s now a senator and it’s sickening she won’t stand for the security of the nation.
not sure when that chick became the soul of the senate. but it’s all optics. a resolution of disapproval would look bad in the senate, but neither house is likely to override the inevitable veto. the only problem would be the increased howling in the MSM.
