I think a good case can be made that we did get sucked into that war. FDR had the US bending neutrality to the point that our Navy was escorting convoys bound for England and trying to sink German U-boats for months before Pearl Harbor. You don’t think had anything to do with Hitler deciding to declare war? I don’t think there is much doubt that FDR wanted the US in that war and he did pretty much everything he could do to get us sucked into it. I am not sure that I could care less what present day Europeans do with Europe. I don’t think it is any of our business.

Conspiracy theory? Whatever. I guess you must believe that the USS Rueben James really wasn’t sunk by a U-Boat while escorting a Britain bound convoy more than a month before Pearl Harbor? It wasn’t the only ship we lost that way either. We were already in a partial naval war with Germany before they declared war on us. if you didn’t know that, you could always read up on it.

And I don’t buy it for a minute that she’s helping anything anywhere. He’s not a king and she’s not a princess to be propped up by hobnobbing with the powers of the world, as if she’s some sort of feminist-icon future president in training. The whole image of nepotism and of her being somehow his representative has got to hurt far more than it helps anything.
And then there’s the crap that Jared is up to and gets us into, which he is only in a position to inflict on us as her husband. Nepotism squared.
And no, I’m not a fan of Merkel either, but at least she was her country’s elected leader. (And because she doesn’t have children, she couldn’t inflict them on the people of Germany as if Germany was their little plaything!)

In Trump’s situation, there aren’t a lot of folks he can trust. I have no problem with him appointing his daughter to this position.
Nepotism is overplayed. If people are qualified, there’s not as much problem as folks make it out to be.
She’s directing him... good grief.
