Community policing doesn’t work in a world with probable cause and no knock raids. Anything you say to a cop could get your door kicked in by a SWAT team.

Nothing in the article addresses the right of the people to arm themselves and to act as their own protectors given that the police have no legal obligation whatsoever to protect individuals.

Meaning that this was a lengthy essay that supports the police state over the rights of the individual to defend themselves and to go about their lawful business without unwarranted interference from the police.

It used to work, when cops walked a beat and got to know the residents. No more; they seldom exit the car except in response to a call. This applies mainly to city and suburban cops; there are likely some rural guys who stop to say hello.
