I wouldn’t trade a broken fungo bat for Mitch.

Congress is terrified of Trump and Trump’s voters.
Trump can and should use that.
POTUS, build the wall and chuck Mitch over it as a prize for drug lords.
Congress doesn’t want to have to have a roll call vote in funding the wall, either House.

Of course not. They all want power without responsibility. There goal is to be endlessly re-elected until they’re term limited by dying. That and attending all the right parties. Public be damned.
Mitch has the intelligence of an amoeba and the same spine also.
A well-managed, limited brain drain of peoole eager to assimilate is not the same as allowing millions of freeloaders to invade your nation.
It can be argued that the proof of your statement is the bill that is being put forward.
Trump can use that fear against Congress.
I hope he does so.
And, to put that off as long as possible by having better health care than the rest of us peasants.
Congress is advertising just how Trump can hit them where it hurts.
If only all the nation’s enemies were as sodding stupid and lily-livered as Congress.
That is a more upbeat interpretation & I thank you for that. Only POTUS & Mitch know the truth. My money is on POTUS and if Mitch is playing “put a good face on it” while planning a longer game it is all the better for our Country.
I will glory in their downfall it can’t come soon enough. America has been attacked from within for long enough.
They may be terrified, but WTP are unable to verify that fact. We want to see the puddles in their shoes and sweat on their brow. Only then will we believe. Sloshing in DC would be heard worldwide were that the case.
OH, if only this war might end soon. We’ve been at it for so many years. An entire lifetime for some.
It time for Martial Law! There is no other way to save the country. We have an invasion from our southern boarders, traitors infiltrating and controlling our institutions, and an out of control debt spiral that will bankrupt the country. To do anything otherwise will allow the death of our country and the establishment of the Union of Socialist States of North and Central America. Valenzuela will seem like a paradise in comparison. We are at (or beyond) the crossroads.
