I have come to the conclusion there is no hope for the Black Community. Over 50 years of The Great Society and Trillions of Dollars spent, along with school integration, and all manor of Social Programs along with Affirmative Action and where are we?
I would say that at least 20% of the Black Population have done themselves well and have been successful and prospered. The rest are pretty much where they were and are not going any further no matter what happens.
I am now convinced it is in the DNA. When I look at Africa and how it is then I see it as hopeless. They can't rule themselves, feed themselves or anything else without a helping hand from the West. If we have global cooling, and I think that is a likely outcome, then farming will change drastically and we may only be able to take care of ourselves here and have no extra food to export, then what will happen?
When you look at crime here a big part is black on black and most of those in prison are black. Why? My feeling is again it's just in their DNA and probably because of a lower IQ than others. A valid assumption given several studies, notably “The Bell Curve”.
Let's say we have reparations, are we talking about a arbitrary amount of money? If so how much? Lets say for the sake of argument we have reparations and we give every so called descendant $160,000, with the proviso this is it, there will be no more and we get to rescind all social programs. It's over.
Well it would be like a lottery winning, it would be spent by most and in a short time it's gone and then where are we, well right back to where we were. There would be a clamor for more money, why, well we spent it and it's gone and we are entitled.
Nothing and I mean nothing will ever be solved and there will never be enough money.

When I was in South Africa last year we were told not to even leave our hotel in Johannesburg because whites were targets.

How about reparations from blacks — for all the crime, drugs, illegitimate kids, and failure to take advantage of the opportunities they have here but would not have had if they had lived in Africa? Sure, their ancestors suffered the curse of slavery; but they have the blessing of things like telephones, clean water, no malaria, etc.
People pushing for cheap labor from Mexico had better pay attention because WHEN the illegals become citizens (the next Dem president will make that happen), they will say our economy was built on their backs and will demand reparations.
What is it with Dems and GOPe that they always need slave labor to succeed.?

Seriously where do you draw the line on reparations? As the temporary Virginia Governor might say should indentured servants get reparations? How about descendants of interned Japanese Americans? How about interned Germans in WW1 @ WW2?
Affirmative action programs should have been enough, in my view. Oh course I might evolve at some future date.

As a product of a Catholic grammar & HS education in Chicago in the 40s I had blacks in my class room. Only If you were late coming into mass you did ever seat yourself in the back so as not to disturb others.
