Little Richard won a lifetime achievement Grammy in 1993.
Barry Manilow won a Grammy in 1978.
David Bowie has won 5 Grammys.
Melissa Etheridge won one in 1993.
I could go on, but you get the idea. The only difference is that today they are a deviant first, and an artist second.
