A 24-year-old man was arrested Sunday in the shooting death of a beloved businessman and philanthropist who was gunned down while he waited for his wife in a CVS parking lot, Georgia police announced.
DeMarvin Bennett, of East Point, Ga., was arrested Sunday in the death of Jack Hough, 73, an Air Force vet who was sitting in his car when he was fatally shot, Gainesville Police said. ..."
Police found the gun they believed was used to kill Hough, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. He was taken into custody around 2 a.m. Sunday.
Forensic evidence developed from the scene identified Bennett, of East Point, Ga., as the suspect, police said.

I live near Gainesville, GA. The paper here called it a failed carjacking / robbery.
Geographically Gainesville is over an hour by car from East Point, on a low traffic time. Meaning, he was here deliberately. You don’t just get in a car from East Point and say, “I’ll drive up to Gainesville.”

Gainesville has its own issues with all the illegals. They really don’t need any help from the thugs in Atlanta. Although the thugs from Atlanta might think all the illegals and chicken plant workers are easy pickings. Either way, what was once a decent little city north of Atlanta and near the lake has devolved into a mini-Mexico and crime. Interestingly, Gwinnett County, once a safe and growing Republican stronghold, is going the same way with all the gang problems. Used to be that the cops in Atlanta and a little in Dekalb, got most of the rough stuff. With the illegals and the fact that crime is actually getting worse, no matter how departments are cooking the books, every cop is getting a taste of it these days.

His full name was James Jackson “Jack” Hough, and he was 73-years-old.
“Jack was a philanthropist in the Gainesville community and supported numerous charities,” his obituary reads.
“In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to two of Jack’s favorite charities – We Care 615 Oak Street #F1300 Gainesville, GA 30501 and Gainesville First United Methodist Church 2780 Thompson Bridge Road Gainesville, GA 30501.”
Hough was remembered by those who knew him as a “fine Southern Gentleman,” who gave a lot back to the community.
