I generally side with cops but no way should no knock raids even be legal (especially in plain clothes). It’s an opening for a totally innocent person to open fire on police.

I’m a retired cop and my opinion is they seriously screwed the pooch on this one. A knock first warrant with SWAT involvement would’ve probably been just fine. Somebody failed to think it out and chaos ensued.

There was a case a few years ago in Minneapolis where a wrong address raid had the father blasting the entry team with a 12 gauge. Amazing everyone lived, and the cops payed big dollars the the family.
These raids may be necessary sometimes, but it should be a last resort, not the first.y

I might have agreed with you ten years ago. It's long past the time I'd agree with you now.

Police, priests and politicians have revealed themselves to be untrustworthy.
