Netflix reportedly paid a record sum to obtain the rights to a documentary about the election campaign of Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Knock Down the House, which followed the 2018 midterm primary elections of four Democratic women, three of whom lost their bids, rose from its initial Kickstarter funding to the Festival Favorite Award at Utahs Sundance Film Festival.
Netflix announced its decision to purchase rights to the film on Thursday. The streaming service reportedly paid $10 million, the most ever for a Sundance Film Festival documentary.

I don’t care for netflix.
I’m doing the same. I’ve had it with these a-holes. First with the Obama worshiping and now this, I’m out. Another company run by commie scumrats. Why don’t they do a documentary on Venezuela? Cuba?
I keep loosing the fight to cancel that crap in my house..
about to just put my foot down and cancel it.
This is a roundabout way for leftwing heavy hitters to funnel money to AOC without running afoul of campaign donation limits.
Must get backing from Obama.
ROTFL. A movie about a Marxist barmaid. Cool. I don’t think that one has been done yet.

The 3rd world has big plans for Permanently Transforming America.
“Being there” part deux.
The are trying to engineer her into the Presidency - and in 2020 as well.
You think the Dummycrats give a sh*t about anything the Constituion says on age ?
The high school psrt should be fun whre she made out to be the Italian Sandy Ocasio.
Chauncey Cortez
With her new found wealth, she is going to find out that walking the walk is a little bit more difficult than just talking the talk.
It didn’t take that C word long to cash in, did it?
Correct me if I’m wrong but this documentary was filmed last year by someone outside of the AOC sphere and was shown at the Sundance Film festival. The $10 million dollars that Netflix is paying for the rights to broadcast it on their streaming service will go to the folks that shot the film and not to AOC. Don’t know anything about a book deal but there’s probably some truth to that and AOC would be paid for it along with her ghost writer.
“Chauncey Cortez”
Yup.
Please expand.
I would guess the money just looks like it is coming from Netflix.
Will she be voluntarily donating 70% of it to the IRS?
Not really. I watched that exchange the other day. Had she turned to the House members on both sides of her and said, “Everything I’ve just pointed out is possible because committees like this in Congresses like the one we’re in now wrote the laws that allow it and we need to change that,” she would have made quite the statement. However, everything she did was get to her money quote which was that the President has an easy time being a bad guy.
