His story changed at least three times.
He said he was surround by the Covington boys.
He said he walked up to the Covington boys to de-escalate the situation but he didn't. He was the aggressor. HE walked up to Mr. Sandmann. HE didn't SAY anything to diffuse the situation. He said NOTHING and BANGED HIS TOM TOM.
He then said he was just walking up the stairs and Mr. Sandmann stood in his way.

That’s good news, but I predict that Nathan Phillips will immediately plead poverty when he gets sued.

If this ever gets to trial, I hope the case will be decided by a judge, NOT by a jury that could easily be deceived from all the street theater and romanticizing of his slander.
