February 8, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) - One of the attorneys representing Covington High School student Nick Sandmann and his parents confirmed to LifeSiteNews that Native American activist Nathan Phillips “will be sued.”
Lin Wood, an Atlanta-based lawyer, told LifeSite yesterday that Phillips’ “lies and false accusations” against Sandmann and the other Covington students are “well documented.”
He also said they would be filing the first round of lawsuits "within two weeks." Todd V. McMurtry, a Ft. Mitchell, Ky attorney, is also representing Sandmann and his parents. Doug Schloemer, a Ft. Mitchell, Ky attorney, represents a number of other students and Robert Barnes, a California attorney, is also representing families and students of Covington High School.
The legal action by Sandmann’s attorneys is ramping up after notices demanding preservation of evidence for possible slander litigation were recently sent out to more than 50 media, dioceses, and celebrities.
Wood told LifeSite that the list of recipients of the notices “continues to grow in number” and that the legal team is “in the process of sending formal written retraction demands in conformity with statutes in states in which litigation may be filed.” They expect to advance to the next stage and “file the first round of civil lawsuits within the next two weeks.”
Asked about why the Diocese of Covington is still investigating the Washington incident involving the students, Sandmann’s attorney responded:
We have no idea why the investigation by the Diocese has not been concluded but we are confident that any objective review of the evidence will conclude that Nick did nothing wrong. Nick remained calm and well-mannered despite being confronted by an activist beating a drum within inches of his face while chanting loudly. Nick did not utter one word except to quietly urge a classmate to refrain from making any comments...

He said he was surround by the Covington boys.
He said he walked up to the Covington boys to de-escalate the situation but he didn't. He was the aggressor. HE walked up to Mr. Sandmann. HE didn't SAY anything to diffuse the situation. He said NOTHING and BANGED HIS TOM TOM.
He then said he was just walking up the stairs and Mr. Sandmann stood in his way.

That’s good news, but I predict that Nathan Phillips will immediately plead poverty when he gets sued.
“What are you gonna take, White Man? my Tribal Feathers, or my Ceremonial Drum, maybe? I’m Dead Broke, in case you can’t tell.”
However, since he’s a veteran, he may be receiving benefits of some sort; medical insurance perhaps.
If it’s a full out lie, a case of Stolen Valor, then I don’t know what if any personal assets could be taken.
Clearing Nick Sandman’s name and that of his fellow victims is the goal.
The money is irrelevant.
Ok the Native-American elder/tribal leader is sued and looses.

Making threats against a school is a felony in Kentucky. Lots of people have been jailed for it.

A National Defense Fund would only give that liar a bigger stage to weave even more elaborate tales. Nate is a natural actor, storyteller and rabblerouser so he would be lovin’ it!
If this ever gets to trial, I hope the case will be decided by a judge, NOT by a jury that could easily be deceived from all the street theater and romanticizing of his slander.
