(1) The general style is so "hyper," with his tone of speech, turning in every which direction, and the swift arm gestures. Put a beard on Beto and his act would resemble the young Fidel Castro c. 1959.
(2) The most egregious line in the speech, to paraphrase: "They say that walls save lives. But I say that walls end lives." So he's definitively blowing off the interests of Americans who might be killed by the alien invaders in favor of taking up the cause of the "oppressed" illegal alien hordes.
Beto looked and sounded like a version of Peter Pan, trying to get his constituents to be naughty, truant little liberal fascists.
