He crushed 16 other GOP primary competitors and pounded Hillary for all to see in the debates.
He outworked Hillary in the general campaign, winning the election, drawing HUUUUUUGE crowds in the process.
How do these people think they can beat this guy?

Plenty of shrinking violets on here lamenting Trump caving on the shutdown. My take, he played them like a fiddle, a Charlie Daniels fiddle, as in “The devil went down to Georgia”. What he did is going to have a lasting impact and effect the election.
The delay in giving the speech allowed unseen events to unfold, like the rush to infanticide demonstrated by the dems. That part of the President’s speech was very memorable.

She and her liberal cohorts are captive to their own emotions. They are radicals driven by their ideological hatred and resentment, which of course prevents rational thought. Trump knows this and leverages their stupidity to great effect. He plays with them like toys.
And we had a lot of concern trolls fretting resident Trump had caved and let her walk over him (just like the Dems were crowing she had showed him what real power was)...when will they stop underestimating him?

Another strategic move by the President, perhaps overlooked, was to take his time and cover a broad range of topics. The result was that his speech ran 1 hour 20 minutes. When it was over, most of The Country was ready for bed and had no time (or inclination) to listen/watch the fat, ugly, gap-tooth socialist give the dem reply.

I enjoyed that article. Trump does know how public relations and promotions work. Nancy did his work for him by making a big deal of postponing the address, creating a drama between her and Trump, so of course when the speech did happen viewership was up and Trump had a home run speech ready for that increased audience.
I wonder if this occurred to Nancy while she was sitting there adjusting her dentures.
My favorite part was when he let the non-hooded klanswomen have their little self-congratulatory pep-rally, then went right back to praising the real heroes of this country.
Trump was a master at starting the speech by praising the WWII vets at the beginning of the speech. He then closed with the very personal story of the Dachau survivor and the vet who was involved in the liberation of the camp who was seated next to him. It was a masterful stroke.
But beyond that, his summation in the last 10-15 minutes of the speech showed the American people who the real bad guys were...Congress. He let it rip on both sides, not singling out Democrats, but giving hell to Republicans too. His closing remarks on the greatness of this country and the gridlock that is all too common in Washington, struck a chord that transcends party affiliation. He made EVERY member of Congress look small in their petty bickering and their concern about Party over Country.
There were times in the speech I wondered where he was going, but at the end, it was a truly historic speech.
He had the perfect tone too. Not loud. Not bombastic. Soft spoken, factual. People tuning in who had never seen him before were probably like “Wait...is this the out of control guy we keep hearing about?”
