Another strategic move by the President, perhaps overlooked, was to take his time and cover a broad range of topics. The result was that his speech ran 1 hour 20 minutes. When it was over, most of The Country was ready for bed and had no time (or inclination) to listen/watch the fat, ugly, gap-tooth socialist give the dem reply.
Even if the SOTU ran over, the TV would have been SHUT OFF after the President finished. WE had no desire to listen to the 2 faced lair give a response.
