The Department of Justice has opened an investigation into Secretary of Labor Alex Acostas role in negotiating a controversial plea deal with a wealthy New York investor accused of molesting more than 100 underage girls in Palm Beach.
The probe is in response to a request by Sen. Ben Sasse, a a Nebraska Republican and member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who raised questions about the case following a series of stories in the Miami Herald. The Herald articles detailed how Acosta, then the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and other DOJ attorneys worked hand-in-hand with defense attorneys to cut a lenient plea deal with multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein in 2008.
The Heralds three-part series, Perversion of Justice, was cited by Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd in his letter to Sasse. DOJs Office of Professional Responsibility will head the investigation, he said.
OPR has now opened an investigation into allegations that Department attorneys may have committed professional misconduct in the manner in which the Epstein criminal matter was resolved, wrote Boyd in the letter dated Wednesday.

“...but not directed at Acosta directly?”
Aimed directly at Acosta.
Acosta is the target. Acosta’s staff from the time have long said they objected to the deal Acosta made with Alan Dershowitz on behalf of Epstein.
Already posted, but great minds....

Is that the epstein who is bill clinton’s friend?
If it is, there are things they can get him for.
James Patterson and John Connolly
I think the Feds came in and push out the local prosecutor He was a real creep...under aged girls..
bill was with him on some of his trips.....
Meaningless. We will never see the FBI arrive and comb through Epstein island.
Probably aimed and Dershowitz. He has been outspoken critique of Mueller.
Compare to Jarred Fogle the Subway guy. “On August 19, 2015, federal prosecutors announced they had reached a deal with Fogle in which he would plead guilty to two counts, one of distribution and receipt of child pornography and one of traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minorspecifically, from Indiana to New York City, where he is charged with paying to engage in sexual acts with a 17-year-old girl”
Jarred got 15 years and 8 months in prison and close to 2 million in fines.
Now look at Epstein. In March 2005, a woman contacted Florida’s Palm Beach Police Department and alleged that her 14-year-old stepdaughter had been taken to Jeffrey Epstein’s mansion by an older girl. There she was paid $300 to strip and massage Epstein. She had undressed, but left the encounter wearing her underwear.
Police began an 11-month undercover investigation of Epstein, followed by a search of his home. The Federal Bureau of Investigation also became involved in the investigation. Subsequently, the police alleged that Epstein had paid several escorts to perform sexual acts on him. Interviews with five alleged victims and 17 witnesses under oath, a high school transcript, and other items they found in Epstein’s trash and home allegedly showed that some of the girls involved were under 18. The police search of Epstein’s home found large numbers of photos of girls throughout the house, some of whom the police had interviewed in the course of their investigation.
The International Business Times reported that papers filed in a 2006 lawsuit alleged that Epstein installed concealed cameras in numerous places on his property to record sexual activity with underage girls by prominent people for criminal purposes, such as blackmail. Epstein allegedly “loaned” girls to powerful people to ingratiate himself with them and also to gain possible blackmail information. In 2015, evidence came to light that one of the powerful men at Epstein’s mansion may have been Prince Andrew, Duke of York. A former employee told the police that Epstein would receive massages three times a day. Eventually the FBI received accounts from 36 girls whose allegations of molestation by Epstein included overlapping details.
Epstein pleaded guilty to a single state charge of soliciting prostitution from girls as young as 14,[20] he was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Instead of being sent to state prison like the majority of sex offenders convicted in Florida, Epstein was housed in a private wing of the Palm Beach County stockade. He was able to hire his own security detail and was allowed “work release” to his downtown office for up to 12 hours a day six days a week. He served 13 months before being released for a year of probation. While on probation he was allowed numerous trips on his corporate jet to his homes in Manhattan and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Epstein case being exposed would keep the tabloids busy for weeks.

Interesting timing....
An oh-so-unfortunate earthquake, huh...?

GETTING RID OF THE EVIDENCE
Jeffrey Epstein’s video library is priceless. The FBI will go to any lengths to keep it concealed.
Yes, Epstein is Bill’s friend. Before the arrest, Donald Trump has also had kind words for Epstein: Ive known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. Hes a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.
This is very bad news for Acosta, but who knows where this will lead?
Probably bad news for Dershowitz as well as Acosta. (Acosta made the Epstein deal with Dershowitz). Likely just another way to intimidate anyone connected to Pres. Trump.
They may be willing to sacrifice Bill and Hillary to get Trump. I think he made a few visits, too. Epstein got off because a real prosecution would have ensnared the Clintons and lots of other very powerful government officials.
