Lots have weighed in so I will to. Mostly to stake a position for myself and my recollection:
Probably the best, most heart felt, most folksy United States exceptionalism SOTU I have heard in my recollection going back to 1960.
None of the talking heads will have anything good to say so forget them. I will be anxious to hear what Rush has to say tomorrow. It should be one for the record books.
His list of accomplishments are only for the entirety of the United States benefit. He is unapologetic in his support of the CITIZENS first and in some cases ONLY.
I liked almost all of it but the things he found necessary to extoll and the whole women thing and the support of more legal immigration than we have ever had. It is playing to the sheeple. I could not do it.
He connected many times with many people. “They wouldn’t do it for me...”
He called out a lot of people without being personal but they know who they are. It needed to be done. You are either a bull or a cow. He is a bull.
He made a compelling case for control of our borders. I don’t see how anyone could disagree with it but they will.
He hammered the left on trade. Pommeled them.
Flag waving and no apologies for what we have accomplished attempting to be inspirational. It made me happy and made me feel good.
He made very good use of many examples from his guests. He knew them and their stories personally not by proxy. It was all about doing right things.
I will read the text. There were many good points, plans and challenges.
He exhibited true leadership and painted a vision of things that could be if there is a WE and US. Who could argue with his vision if you are an American who wants the best for our people.
Great nations do not fight protracted wars.
I will build the wall. I don’t doubt him on this.
He is genuinely outraged by the NY and Virginia abortion stances. So outraged he almost lost his composure.
I know a man who sowed wild oats but once done it was done and he never did it again. He was one of the greatest and most reverent men I ever knew. Trump invoked God and I believe he truly believes we are here to serve Him by serving others.
He is setting up the dims. He has asked them to do many things that are only reasonable, logical, good for ALL the people and right. If they support him, he wins in 2020. If they don’t support him, he wins in 2020. I hope this is true. God be with us if it is not true.
We are in the midst of Regime politics. We have two sides that disagree on our direction so badly they can’t negotiate at all. They are violently opposed. This is the reason he called out socialism. It is not what the nation or at least he and his followers stand for. We are now a 47/47 nation with both ends pulling against the middle and going nowhere. He is trying to break this logjam by appealing for the good of ALL people.
Once upon a time we had Normal politics. We agreed on the direction and the goals for America but not the means. That ended somewhere at the beginning of the last century. Trump understands this and it gives me some small measure of relief that he does.
Great speech. Great President. I am so grateful he was elected.
If they do what he asks he wins in 2020.

It looked like she was trying to get something out from under her dentures. It was amazing some of the places Democrats chose to sit.
OC didn’t stand for infrustructure spending. They didn’t stand for the military at least once. America as energy exporters yet the “no blood for oil” party sat on it hands in favor of endless wars. Bernie was motionless for any positive mention of the Jewish people. Dems didn’t applaud getting 5m off food stamps.

I don’t know. Maybe it was the onions, maybe you just have an affinity for drug kingpins: the key figure in a multi-million dollar drug ring that moved between 2000 and 3000 kilos of cocaine, poisoning her community. Oh, and the money laundering too
