Canada, a nation of not quite 37 million people, wants to add more than 1 million immigrants through 2021.
"Thanks in great part to the newcomers we have welcomed throughout our history, Canada has developed into the strong and vibrant country we all enjoy," Ahmed Hussen, minister of immigration, refugees and citizenship, wrote in an annual report to Parliament. "Immigrants and their descendants have made immeasurable contributions to Canada, and our future success depends on continuing to ensure they are welcomed and well-integrated."
Hussen, now in his early 40s, fled to Canada from war-torn Somalia when he was 16.
A year ago, Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America, said he didn't want the U.S. accepting immigrants from Haiti or countries in Africa or similar "s---hole countries."
Somalia is in Africa.
"My experience is not unique," Hussen told The New York Times in 2017. "Canada receives a lot of refugees every year."
For Canada to add 1 million immigrants over the next three years, the nation would need to welcome approximately 350,000 -- roughly 1 percent of its current population -- in each of 2019, 2020 and 2021.
"Canada is a world leader in managed migration with an immigration program based on non-discriminatory principles, where foreign nationals are assessed without regard to race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or gender," Hussen wrote in his report.
About 1 in 5 current Canadians are immigrants, according to the report, with more than 6 million arriving since 1990.
About 13.7 percent of the U.S. population, roughly 1 in 7, in 2017 was foreign born, according to U.S. Census estimates. In 2016, that figure was 13.5 percent.

Because Toronto and Vancouver are not overcrowded with sky high real estate prices and overburdened infrastructure, at least according to these people.
Canada just signed on to the UN compact. This insures the UN will impose islam on whoever signs on to the global compact initiative. It also insures anti blasphemy laws in the “free west”.

From what I understand, British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan would like to leave Canada and become part of the US. Makes the border wall an easier proposition. Maybe we could “trade” Canada New England, New York and New Jersey for the three provinces.
All we hear about now is how wonderful it is for the receiving countries to keep taking these people in, but very little about what's happening in the countries these people have migrated from. And the negative effects they have on the host country's native population once they've arrived, e.g., culture clash, political conflict, illiteracy, spread of recurrent diseases which once had been eradicated in the West.
We can ship them the caravans.

New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut would then become New Palestine. Bet on it. Then we would become the Israelis. With the whole world hating us. Not much different from what’s happening now. Boy do I miss the fifties. What a mess we’ve been allowed to make with this genocide thing. How ironic that the race which has gifted the world with the most amazing things is now being targeted for extinction by rabid hateful hordes whose sole contribution to society are massive dung heaps and rampant disease.

Off topic, but the liberals tell us America is racist sexist xenophobic etc. Then why would any immigrants, legal or illegal, want to come to this country if this country is so discriminatory against foreigners???
Very very very important distinction.
So many are in knots about the 400k DACA kids brought here when young children, but they can speak English and most are in college or college educated. While LEGAL immigrants admitted under chain migration system with the sponsorship by a relative are not tested for either.
So many more in knots about the less than 1 million admitted on H1-B visa’s who all have skills in computer programming, can speak English, and have jobs and pay (federal income+state income+ property+ utilities+ gasoline+ Sales) Taxes. Most of the 30 Million chain migrants have low skills, most are on welfare, many can’t speak English, includes my own relatives (not sponsored by me).
Trump is the first president in my lifetime of 7 decades who recognizes folly of chain immigration.
