Yeah, I noticed that too. Some sort of morning ..... coffee (I didn’t want to say “joe”).

My morale at work: “I’m glad I’m not unemployed.”

Yep, those government employees have it rough all right. And they get better pensions, healthcare, pay levels, working conditions, etc. than everybody else to make up for the pain of having an extra paid vacation once in a while.

5 weeks without these government workers getting in our shorts but somehow the Earth didn't spin off its axis and plummet into the sun. Maybe we can do without them the other 330 days per year too.

The saddest story was about microbrewers not being able to get their beer labels approved and therefore couldn't see new types of beer. Just why do beer labels need individual govenment approval at all?

Ok, we have now heard from those that DIDN’T WORK yet will receive their checks.

WAITING for those that HAD to report and WORKED FOR FREE (knowing they would eventually get paid) to raise ‘concerns’ over those that DIDN’T WORK yet still get/got paid and THEY are crying about morale???

Well, when Nanc&Chuk shove PDJTs olive branch up his ARSE sideways propped with a brick someone is going to learn some REAL hardships for a long while.

Might have to get the Armed Forces to take over some ‘critical’ jobs and when they do, make sure the announcements go out to completely RELEASE the people who were/are too sick to work.

ATCs called President RR’s ‘bluff’ and he showed them how REAL men ‘negotiate’ even though the DEMs screwed him and his successor over.

I sure hope that EVERY R kept the shots of Chuk/Nan regaling over PDJTs ‘cave’ when - in essence - he was keeping HIS HALF of the deal... I think chuks words were’nancy deserves a steak’....

Then to really ‘nail the door shut’ pelosi waits till the 7th day of the ‘supposed’ negotiations by declaring ‘NO Money for YOU!’.

When is enough enough??

“And it may have the longer-term impact of making it more difficult to bring new people into the government.”

I’m good with that!

“It’s just not a good place to be,” he says.”..

Are you shitting us? For the pay and benefits those federal jobs are to die for.

Hopefully it’s been more than a little humbling to be exposed as the welfare class of governmental employees. Remember in BettleJuice that everyone that commits suicide gets to be a civil servant for eternity.

Dingleberries and sucklers !!

Gonna kill morale? Then quit. Get a private sector job.

Please.

Not in my agency. We get it.

I don’t expect EPA employees to understand border security.

I applied for a job at a federal prison after being laid off with 10+ corrections experience. I was basically told that since I wasn’t a veteran or a minority I wasn’t even qualified to interview even though there were two vacancies.

Until this last November, I was a self employed aerospace engineer working essentially “day to day” for over 15 years. Worked full time for most of that span but there were times where I was asked to take a few weeks off here and there as projects changed. No work, no pay for me and that was my choice and I dealt with it. No vacation, no benefits and I bet my tax rate was higher than these folks too. Oh well.....

While I’m thinking that finding out that, no matter what, you get your full pay, so it was free vacation, would improve morale.

And finding out that, while you were on vacation with deferred pay, people would give you free things, and your local governments would allow you to file “unemployment”, so you could actually MAKE EXTRA MONEY, should even more improve morale.

Realizing that you were never going to actually lose your job, and remembering that you get paid more for the same skills, get better benefits, and better retirement, you should be bursting with “morale”.

I first thought the title said they faced a moral choice, and thought it was going to be about people who realize it was stealing to take unemployment when you weren’t looking for a job and were getting paid back, and the moral choice was ‘do I return the unemployment money’.

I have as much sympathy for the General Schedule (GS) federal government employees as they have had for me.....

None.

Big whinies didn’t miss a single check. Last paycheck was Dec. 28 and they got paid this week.

Or do they get paid twice a month? If so, the government could save a lot of money only paying once a month.
