GOP Poised to Rebuke Trump (Voting Today-McConnell Pre-Impeach Plan?)

Frustrated Republicans say it’s time for the Senate to reclaim more power over foreign policy and are planning to move a measure Thursday that would be a stunning rebuke to a president of their own party.

GOP lawmakers are deeply concerned over President Trump’s reluctance to listen to his senior military and intelligence advisers, fearing it could erode national security. They say the Senate has lost too much of its constitutional power over shaping the nation’s foreign policy and argue that it’s time to begin clawing some of it back.

“Power over foreign policy has shifted to the executive branch over the last 30 years. Many of us in the Senate want to start taking it back,” said a Republican senator closely allied with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

They plan to send Trump a stern admonishment by voting Thursday afternoon on an amendment sponsored by McConnell warning “the precipitous withdrawal” of U.S. forces from Syria and Afghanistan “could put at risk hard-won gains and United States national security.”

I guess McConnell and the rest of the spineless GOPe haven’t read the Constitution. The Constitution gives the President sole power over foreign policy with the exception of approval of ambassadors and treaties and commerce. Other than that, Congress has no power — other than the purse strings. Policy is the purview of the President. I’m amazed that McConnell has actually come out like this rather than his normal lie to Trump’s face and then back stab him using proxies. McConnell is unethical, dishonest and should be looked at for his and his wife’s contacts with China.

The uniparty strikes as the Deep State commands. Trump is ignoring these apparatchiks because they have been more wrong than a drunken weather bimbo on the local channel 10 news just reading the conventional report.

Trump will continue to ignore these perpetual warmongers and eventually he will be targeted by them and taken out, especially when impeachment fails and Mulehead strikes out. I pray for his safety daily and Trump should have someone he trusts other than the US Secret Service watching his movements and watching their actions.

If they go off the range, they are cut off from the $$$$$.

Something which TERM LIMITS would cure. I'd suggest no more than 2 terms (12 years) for Senators. 12 years is a long time.

There are many other terms I would to describe them, but “unaware” is not one of them. They know exactly what they are doing and why they are doing it. They are fully aware.

I was shocked that I actually got to talk to someone....as it’s usually a recording.

Ask him why he’s doing the bidding of the DS and why he’s letting Coats and Schumer run the Senate.

Oh, and that you support POTUS Trump 1,000% and he should, too.

Romney is the leader of the GOP Senate impeachment caucus, McConnell must be feeling Romney’s breath on his neck and now wants to get out front.

If Trump wants to stay in office he may need to adjourn Congress for a few years.
