Presidential candidates running for the White House in 2020 will face the most diverse electorate in American history when one in every three people eligible to vote will be nonwhite.
A new analysis from the Pew Research Center shows 66.7 percent of eligible U.S. voters will be white in 2020. For the first time, Hispanic voters will make up the largest minority within the electorate, surpassing black voters.
As recently as the 2000 election, more than three-quarters of the electorate was white. In the nearly two decades since, the number of both Hispanic citizens and Asian-American citizens has nearly doubled, while the African-American population has grown by about 10 percent.
This is largely driven by growth in Hispanics and Asians, said Richard Fry, a senior researcher at Pew. Its driven partly by natural growth, by fertility. And among those who are eligible to vote, there are naturalized citizens. And Hispanics are an important part of our immigration stream.
The countrys rapidly changing demographics are hastened by the arrival of Generation Z, those born after 1996, who are just beginning to age into the electorate. Generation Z is both the most ethnically diverse and best-educated age cohort in American history only 55 percent of that generation is white, compared with 74 percent of the baby-boom generation. Members of Generation Z will make up about one in 10 voters eligible to cast a ballot by 2020.
The diversity of the youngest generation means the slow pace of demographic change is going to speed up as more members of Generation Z turn 18 and begin participating in the political process.
Were expecting demographic shifts to accelerate in the next ten years. Theyre not going to flatten. Theyre going to take off, said Matt Barreto, a political scientist at UCLA and the founder of the Democratic polling firm Latino Decisions.
By contrast, the baby-boom generation is beginning to lose political clout. Boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, will make up 28 percent of the electorate, still the largest generation by population, but only narrowly edging out millennials.
Those born after 1964 members of Generation X, millennials and Generation Z will account for a whopping 62 percent of the electorate.
ETC...
The problem is illegals voting. Not this.
depends on what the word eligible means
In lib world everyone is eligible
It’s both, but this is much worse
Non-white bothers me not. Anti-freedom, Anti-American, Anti-Christian, Anti-Capitalism bothers me.
Half of those are anchor babies, who are not citizens under law, and shouldn’t be voting in our elections.
Ain’t lawlessness grand? /s
“Non-white bothers me not. Anti-freedom, Anti-American, Anti-Christian, Anti-Capitalism bothers me.”
You get a gold star.
This looks like some lame attempt by The Hill to bait us Deplorables into spouting some type of racist response.
1/3 will be non-citizens....................
According to liberals, Hispanics with blond hair and blue eyes are non-white.
I don’t care as long as they are AmeriCANS!!!
100% of non-eligible voters will be non-white.
Hopefully the minorities will remember who gave them the lowest unemployment rate in years and not elect a minority like they did in 2008 just for the sake of electing say, a black woman or any woman because we have never had one as president.
Alleged Democratic ballot box fraud is a big constitutional problem imo.
From related threads, here are major constitutional problems with noncitizens voting.
Patriots need to support PDJT in working with the states to enforce the 12th Amendment (12A) and Section 2 of the 14th Amendment (14A).
Enforcing 12A will put an end to unconstitutional state winner-take-all electoral votes laws imo.
"Excerpted from the 12th Amendment: "The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice- President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate [emphasis added]; "
Regarding Section 2 of the 14th Amendment, that section specifies a penalty for states that weaken the voting rights of their citizens.
14th Amendment, Section 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens [emphases added] twenty-one years of age in such State."
Note that voting rights amendments ratified after 14A effectively change how the express voting eligibility criteria of 14A is to be interpreted imo.
Regarding Section 2, the congressional record shows that post-Civil War federal lawmakers had pointed out not only that only citizens have the right to vote, but when a renegade state lets undocumented Democrats vote (my wording) the state is effectively nullifying the Constitutions uniform Rule of Naturalization clause (1.8.4).
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 4: To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;"
" If the States can admit to the elective franchise those who are not citizens, thereby neutralizing the votes of citizens, not only the Federal power of naturalization becomes a nullity, but * * * * "a minority of citizens by the aid of aliens may control the government of the States, and through the States the government of the Union [emphasis added]." Appendix to the Congressional Globe, 1868. (See near middle of 1st column.)
" Whatever difference there may be as to what other right appertain to a citizen, all must agree that he has the right to petition and also to claim the Protection of the Government. These belong to him as a member the body politic, and the possession of them is what separates citizens of the lowest condition from aliens and slaves. To suppose that a State can make an alien a citizen or confer on him the right of voting would involve the absurdity of giving him the direct and immediate control of the action of the General Government [emphasis added], from which he can claim no protection and to which he has no right to present a petition." Appendix to the Congressional Globe, 1868. (See bottom half of 1st column.)
So in addition to patriots supporting PDJT in enforcing 12A, patriots likewise need to support PDJT in working with the states to respect Sec. 2 of the 14th Amendment.
PDJT needs to work with the states to make sure that only people who present valid citizenship / photo ID cards will be allowed to vote in federal elections. Such cards need to be made scannable to facilitate Democratic ballot box officials with poor eyesight.
We can do even better!!

This is where the literal worldwide (John 3:16 and more) gospel vision ought to shine. But that kind of Christianity rises above the vanilla flavor of cultural Christianity, to embrace more (chocolate, strawberry, lemon, etc. so to speak).
Democrats remember Reagan Democrats and are pitching a fit to avert Trump Democrats.
Why yes.
I recall when this number was 10%.
We were told in 1965 that the ethnic makeup of the country would “remain unchanged” by the act that Hart, Cellar and Kennedy were proposing, written by the America hating Norbert Schlei.
They lied.
And then they doubled down: they said we were “overpopulated” and needed to contracept or abort our selves out of existence. Having only “replacement children” at most.
And then they opened the floodgates to people we had no connection to, had no history in our country, had nothing to do with the sacrifices made to get it to where it was in 1965, and gave them not only access but preferences over us.
Now they will rule us as a the swing vote.
Why should we pay any attention to their vote? In what way are they “Americans”?
The time is now. This is the National Question, the National Crisis: who are the Americans? Anybody who got off the airplane yesterday, or the descendants of generations, people who have no other place to call their own except here?
