Kamala Harris vows to get rid of private health plans: 'Let's eliminate all of that. Let's move on'

California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris, speaking during a town hall Monday night, vowed to eliminate all private health care insurance for approximately 150 million Americans if she is elected president.

Asked by CNN host Jake Tapper if people who like their current health care insurance could keep it under Harris' "Medicare for All" plan, Harris indicated they could not -- but that, in turn, they would experience health care without any delays.

Her statements appeared to be a full-throated call for single-payer health insurance, as opposed to merely expanding Medicare, and a dramatic embrace of the kind of proposals advocated by Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Our problem is that for a finite amount of time have an infinite amount of money. That is, as the reserve currency of the world and as the still surviving economic superpower, we simply print money when we want more socialism. There is no reckoning. That is, taxes do not go up, services do not go down, the music keeps playing because we simply print more money. We do not even suffer inflation at a serious rate for profligate spending because the digital revolution, cheap Chinese imports and waves of low-cost immigrant workers have delayed that inevitability for a while.

Actually we do not even have to print the money anymore, we create more with a keystroke. So a demagogic left-wing politician like Kamala Harris never has to say she is sorry nor ever have to tell us where the money will come from because there are as of now no consequences to spending more.

So, the music plays on.

The money presently is infinite but time is not. Eventually, like other people's money we will run out of time but that is of no importance to the likes Kamala Harris because she, like all the other leftist politicians on both sides of the aisle who have enriched themselves at the public trough, calculates she can make off with her winnings and enjoy her power before the reckoning-or at least she is entitled by present unique circumstances to think so.

Single-payer ANYTHING is not insurance. It's welfare or, more accurately, government rationing. Insurance involves risk and management and keeping premiums ahead of payouts.

The term 'payer' itself is misleading, since total government control will result in the usual imaginary funds changing imaginary hands and many transactions will simply be entries on a spreadsheet somewhere.

We all know couples or families where the female (or male) is a nurse. They got their credentials and toiled in obscurity for a few years doing the menial stuff but got some experience and managerial duties and are now pulling down a healthy salary - good on them.

And then there are the doctors, who have always done quite well especially in certain specialties.

Harris and the rest of her Marxist cabal seem to believe that people not yet trained will still pursue medicine as a career when the profit motive is reduced or eliminated. They believe that experienced doctors and nurses will stand idly by while they become the equivalent of TSA agents or postal clerks.

Where there is government employment, there are unions. The DNC's fever dreams consist of every phlebotomist, dental assistant, oncology nurse and anesthesiologist joining the American Federation of Medical Professionals or whatever other fatuous name they'll coin. As with illegals and transgenders, the DNC desperately seeks to buy votes wholesale - none of this convincing-the-individual-voter rubbish for them. They want numbers. They want guarantees. They want to obviate elections. They want huge checks from union bosses. They want corruption on a grand scale to add to the corruption on a grand scale they already have.

PAY ATTENTION EVERYONE.

This experience is repeated EVERY SINGLE TIME a patient comes into contact with "the system" - unless they are an illegal alien, of course, when everything is free.

And it's not only, or even primarily, because Medicare is run by the government. Medicare's overhead is LESS - much, MUCH less - that "private" health plans.

There is a river of cash that amounts to hundreds of billions that is skimmed off the top before any actual service or product gets paid for.

What we have now is not going to continue. Think about what comes next.

With the Russians surfing around the Gulf of mexico along with the Iranians out of Venezuela, and the Red Chinese expropriating the fould West coast, Kamala will be lucky if there are any doctors hanging around.

The Rx industry will be working to patch up our underfunded, undersupplied military and fight ichorous diseases from the Amazon basin.

If health care were a$$, Kamala would disappear when she turned sideways.

Who would vote for this thing?

It is disheartening to see the rise of open socialism in this country. It indicates a rotting subfloor of our culture.

I fear we may not have a boat big enough, and if we are lucky, and after millions of Americans have suffered and died, some of us might paddle the wreckage towards the shore of recovery as the bleeding carcass of socialism sinks to the bottom.

But like a bad movie sequel, the stain of socialism will again in other iterations as it always seems to do.

Has anyone ever figured out how much this might increase the taxes of those who actually pay taxes? A couple trillion dollars in medicare costs would require funding from who? Certainly the people who now don’t pay for their medical care won’t be paying so how much will everone else, individually, pay?
