Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said that he wasn’t listening to those who said that a potential presidential bid as a “centrist independent” could boost President Donald Trump’s re-election chances.
“Nobody wants to see Donald Trump removed from office more than me, ” Schultz said Monday night during an interview with CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin in New York City that was interrupted by sporadic outbursts from protesters.
Sorkin asked Schultz what he would do if it appeared in the polls that his presidential bid, if he launched one, would assist Trump’s electoral odds.
“If I decide to run for president as an independent, I will believe and have the conviction and the courage to believe I can win,” Schultz said. “I can’t answer that question today. But I certainly am not going to do anything to put Donald Trump back in the Oval Office.”
Schultz faced a battering earlier in the day from top Democrats and political strategists, who criticized the billionaire for pursuing a long-shot campaign that some described as a vanity project.

This could be an epic battle of nitwits.
He has to get registered in all fifty states to run as an independent. So he has cash, but you also have to produce petitions, and I might think that both the GOP/Democrats will fight this in various states.
On votes, I would suggest he’s ‘Ross Perot-capable’....to take 19-million votes or roughly 19-percent of the vote. Perot didn’t have social media, and he didn’t get a lot of news hype. In this case, Schultz might be able to cross the 20-percent point in votes, but the question is....could he win any state’s electoral college situation? Perot won zero electoral votes.
The problem for Schultz is if you go and list his twenty positions on things....only around three-to-five would appeal to conservatives. The rest all lean to the liberals or left. For every vote that he’d take from Trump....he’d take probably three votes from the Democrats.
Course, maye the idea here is to break the Electoral College situation....taking two or three states would be enough.....to force the election into the House (where Democrats might have enough state votes to elect their person). If the Democratic contender and Trump fail to reach the 270....the House gets the opportunity to resolve the mess.

I’m getting no end of amusement over his running as a “centrist” in view of some of the statements he’s made over the years...
Isn’t that the truth.
These people seem to have no concept of what the real spectrum is.
They think the U. S. Constitution and anyone who follows it is off the map to the far right.
Little do they know, the U. S. Constitution is dead center. It’s what we’re to live by, adhere to.
Our Founders were centrists.
If you can’t live with that concept, by all means leave. Find that better place and live your life as happy as can be.
Just leave us alone.
Is Schultz giving away free, unlimited coffee for life to everyone? Trump could be in trouble.
Is he also the one that turned Starbucks bathrooms public for all the drug users and perverts to use? Is that his stance on the border too?
