Sounds to me like the damage was caused by the low-IQ, r-selected dregs this society spits out too much of, not the shutdown. Personal responsibility is the first to go out the window when politics is involved.

Yep, been there twice. In fact I have been to most of the national parks in the US. There is nothing special about Joshua Tree. In fact I have been to numerous state parks which would be better suited to be national parks than Joshua Tree.
These are the same jackasses that do not want us on land so we can preserve it for generations, and now they bitch about it being left alone?
