Out in the Empire State, there’s more good news for illegal aliens. If you’re interested in going to college, not only will state leaders refuse to assist immigration enforcement efforts to deport you, but you can apply for state financial aid and grant programs to fund your tuition. This is part of the recent “justice agenda” announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The new legislation was named the “DREAM Act,” but it applies to far more people than would normally be included in the common usage of the word “dreamers.” (Newsweek)
New York lawmakers passed a state version of the DREAM Act on Wednesday, approving legislation that will allow undocumented students the ability to receive scholarships and state financial aid.
The bill passed in the Senate by a vote of 40-20 and the state assembly by a vote of 90-37, according to CNN. Governor Andrew Cuomo said he intended to sign the bill into law.
“As a key part of our justice agenda, we look forward to finally making it law for all New Yorkers this year, for Senator Peralta and the Dreamers,” he said.
It’s worth noting the “clever” way that Cuomo and the Democratic leadership in the state legislature are weaving the words “DREAM” and “dreamers” into both the title and description of the bill. At a quick glance, you might be led to believe that these programs will be made available to DACA participants who have (at least for now) a temporary exemption from deportation through the Obama-era program. But that’s not the case at all. This applies to anyone in the country illegally who meets a few minimum prerequisites, such as attending high school in New York for at least two years.
Aside from the fact that the vast majority of the intended beneficiaries should actually be scheduled for detainment rather than cash awards, the obvious question this legislation introduces was raised by Republican state senator James Seward. He asked how he was supposed to tell families in his district that adequate state aid to help afford college isnt available for them, but is available for people who are in the country illegally. But that’s apparently not a priority under New York’s Democratic “justice agenda.”
Rather than the usual lawsuits challenging such liberal maneuvers, I can’t help but wonder if the Justice Department should be looking into this. After all, 8 U.S. Code § 1324 clearly states that any person who “encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law” is guilty of a felony. Offering tuition aid so the person can enroll and attend college in New York certainly sounds like a case of encouraging someone to reside in the United States. Perhaps the governor and every member of the legislature who voted for this package should be arrested and charged under that statute.
Of course we can’t just go and do that now, can we? The law can be conveniently ignored when it hinders the social justice agenda.

Then the Republicans get what they deserve. Of course, if the RNC doesn’t put up and back a decent candidate, no wonder. We had that same issue in Indiana with Lugar. Sorry, he was part of the problem and we finally got him out but the RNC put up an idiot who couldn’t keep his mouth shut and we were stuck with Donnelly for a few years. Hopefully Mike Braun is an improvement.

My girlfriend and her husband (formerNYC detective) think Cuomo hung the moon.
This latest move on abortion has, however, sent them over the top. She says Mathilda (Cuomos’s Mother) should wring his neck.

Texas is on the fast track to follow in the footsteps of CA and NY. Remember, CA gave us Ronald Reagan (Governor of CA from 1967 - 1975).
In FY 2018, an average of more than 33,000 were apprehended on the southern border EVERY month. A small cities worth of population, month after month after month after month.
Nearly 400,000 were caught FY 2018 alone.
**** Keep in mind, these numbers represent those who were caught. How many were not caught? ****

Watch this and realize how much illegals take from us taxpayers. Illegals claim many children on their taxes. One claimed 20 kids and 4 families living in his trailer. Turned out he had a wife and one child. He got 30,000 in tax refund. How much do you get?

In our city there was an illegal alien who was hit and killed while crossing a large street. He had 10 different id’s on him. They could not tell who he was. How many times do you think he applied for food stamps and other freebies?

Any productive member of society that stays in that state is insane.
How long until they look to the other 49 states (the Federal Government) to bail them out? THAT should be illegal.

we spend over $600 BILLION DOLLARS on illegals already- per year- every single year when ALL the costs are calculated (direct costs and indirect costs such as victims losing wages because of being wounded, hurt, crippled etc, businesses having to pay higher insurance when they get robbed and destroyed by vandalism events, or crime related destruction, schools having to clean up after illegals, having to carry more insurance because of higher risk of crime, etc- things like that that aren’t calculated into estimates that only look at direct costs)
So apparently cuomo and NY don’t think wasting over $600 BILLION DOLLARS per year, every single year is quite enough, so they are going to tack on billions more i guess
Funny, I thought democrats were whining about how spending a mere $5 billion dollars for the wall was ‘wasteful’?

Cuomo is not a human, he is a disease. Any contact with him should warrant the same disinfecting procedures as handling ebola virus. It is written in neon letters 20 feet tall that he doesn’t give 2 cents about NY citizens. He is ALL about illegal criminal invaders, for their mindless D votes. They don’t even know what or who they are voting for, they only know the D people will continue to give them 50 times what they had in their own wretched s-hole native country, for FREE. Except for pulling that D lever, they are of absolutely no use to us, and in fact are a horrific liability to us all. They bleed us dry to pay for all that stuff for them, cause us to wait hours and hours in an ER, cause our children to be badly crowded in classrooms and do without while money is funneled into bilingual this-that-and the other thing, attack and rape our women, assault us, murder us, etc. What a bargain. Cuomo should be beaten within an inch of his life, then thrown into a pen of large hogs.

One thing is rarely discussed about the Mexican constitution on citizenship is besides being unable to vote one must be a citizen to own land and they are very restrictive about granting citizenship. Because of that a US citizen besides not being able to vote, cannot have title in their name to any property in Mexico. And until that is changed the US and the affected state should consider making that reciprocal.prohibiting citizens of Mexico or countries with similar restrictions from doing both.
