Well, a LOT of American jobs have been sent elsewhere, especially to China.
China is not socialist, China is communist.
We cannot de-industrialize and think it won’t impact America.

Would this be the very same Home Depot that allows Illegal immigrant day laborers to beg for work in front of their stores?

More and more I think the smart play is that for ANYTHING outside of a hard science, IT and maybe business:
You’re simply better off just NOT going to college at all.
More and more Unis are indoctrination centers, EXPENSIVE ones, at that.

Marcus called the economic downturns in each of those countries, Cuba, in particular, a "perfect example of socialism gone wrong."
Socialism gone wrong? Does that mean that somebody didn't do socialism the right way?
Socialism never goes right. Socialism is always wrong. FACT is that, socialism can never go right. Not common sense wise, and not logically. It's not HUMANLY possible. Socialism in Cuba went exactly as it can be expected to go, and that is, ending in the destruction of any country in which it is implemented.
"...the growing appeal to socialism in America comes out of the universities..." Wrong again, Mr Marcus!
While the universities' and colleges' jobs is to indoctrinate the students on socialism and communism and all the leftist ideologies, it's the democratic party which decided decades ago that, if they were to win over the population, they had to start indoctrinating students very early in life, and to do so, they had to take over the education system, including k-12 and the college and university system. Democrats accomplished those tasks fantastically, and so, what the university/college system produce, are exactly the results that the democrats had in mind.
Democrats also had to target and take over another institution in the American information system, because, information is how people either learn anything or were they can be massively misinformed. So, what they did with the education system, they did with the mass media, including the printed press and TV and radio, and the internet.

And, btw, let’s stop beating around the bush.
Anybody that is democrat nowadays, is a socialist. Whatever it meant to be a democrat 100 years ago, or even a few decades ago, does not mean the same today. The ‘democratic party’ has kept the name, but, reality is that, it’s nowhere close to ‘democratic’. Democrats are now about government control over every facet of American life.
Any time democrats take control of any kind of government, whether district or country or city or state or even the federal government, they will implement more government control over the people and industries and over our personal lives. NEVER FAILS. And, they know that they have to fully implement socialism in order to prevent the retraction of any programs and laws and control they’ve implemented. It’s why California and NY have gone full-socialist: they control everything; there is no going back.

BTW (again!): Democrats are being successful with a new (though very old tactic, where they only talk about taxation; namely, raising taxes towards 70% or more. They also talk about income equality, where businesses are supposed to raise wages towards decent self-sustaining salaries. Higher-taxes and wage-hikes via government laws, is nothing more than socialism. FACT is that, high-taxes which punishes the rich/super-rich/wealthy/well-off, is nothing more than a round-about form of socialism. Since socialists can't make the argument for government takeover of industries and businesses, they've found a clever way to do the same, via much higher taxes. Whatever they couldn't control directly, they can control indirectly and in the back-end, the back-end being the result of people's productivity and business-productivity: iow, high-taxes is the back-end route towards control of people and businesses and productivity. YOUR productivity and that of business, can become the property of the government, via high-taxes. Can't get it up-front, but they're attempting to get it all in the back-end.
It's socialism in disguise. It's about control, and control can be achieved via high-taxation and higher-wage laws. So, even with the higher-laws, the socialists are attaining more control over businesses and over the people, since, the people getting those higher wages will tend to vote for those who befriended them with higher incomes.

Home Depot creates Socialists.
Big cities create lesser retail and service jobs, not middle class jobs and the rich shun better middle class protections for manufacturing.
Billionaires like the Home Depot owners create lesser “guest” workers. What the heck is a guest anything? Why not guest billionaires.
Billionaires are the stupid people of society that attract Socialism as a way to shift their costs on to society with bad policy like guests, human trafficking, illegals and low pay retail jobs.
Home Depot has not produced a single product they sell.
They buy slave China products.
They merely distribute.
They do not create.
You rich only had their money for a short time.
Billionaires be stupid.

Re: “Almost 50 percent of students coming out of universities today believe that socialism is the answer.”
Most older people do not realize that 50% of young Americans are non-white.
Young white students are only a little more to the Left than their parents.
Their parents vote 60% Republican.
The kids vote 55% Republican.
