ANALYSIS It took 35 days, but President Donald Trump ultimately caved to Democratic demands that he reopen the government before theyd entertain negotiations on border security. And in 21 more, Trump will have to decide whether to give in again, because hes not likely to get what he wants.
Trump agreed Friday to back a three-week continuing resolution that will reopen the government through Feb. 15. But he is not giving up on his quest to secure funding for wall along the southern border.
We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier, Trump said as he concluded remarks from the Rose Garden announcing the deal to temporarily reopen government. If we dont get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shut down on Feb. 15 again or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws and the Constitution of the United States to address this emergency.

Politically correct statement of the year coming from a politician who scandalously urged lawmakers to read unconstitutional Obamacare bill after they passed it.
Pelosi: "We Have to Pass the Bill So That You Can Find Out What Is In It"
She said she won’t negotiate about the wall. DO THE EXECUTIVE ORDER, NOW!!! Nancy’s statement of refusal to negotiate about the wall gives President Trump a lifeline. But he’d have to do it NOW, so he regains some of the urgency.
When will Trump realize that Federal Judges do not have the Constitutional right to stop legal orders by the President. Federal Judges can only offer opinions and opinions cannot be used to alter Federal Orders. Trump must just ignore these judges and later have the DOJ bring charges against them.
If there’s no money in the bill after three weeks, I’d veto it.
Even if Chuck and Nancy let the gov close in three weeks, it’s still on President Trump. He’s the one who caved, getting nothing in return. Why would they negotiate now, when the tactic of not doing so worked for them?
Pills and booze don’t help.
She isn’t doing the negotiation. It is in conference.
Adrenochrome.
When you really believe your life depends on the blood of an unlimited supply of anonymous, untraceable, and unwanted children, preventing that supply from being cut off really is a matter of life and death.
The only life and death that counts in your sociopath mind, your own life and death.
Prove me wrong...
Pelosi will not agree to a wall, since that would mean invalidating the wishes of her constituents.
Go soak your head and grow up! There is no intelligent analysis in your statement. We have the Super Bowl coming up in 8 days which is a security nightmare which requires certain domestic anti-terrorism security assets that were not being able to be utilized because they are not funded like the essential ones. How would you like to see a terrorist attack happen there? You think there is trouble now it would get far worse. Guess what in three weeks the debate continues and he will pull the National Emergency trigger.
That is the sad part.
Pelosi and Chuckie care more about maintaining a flow of drugs, cheap labor and future voters than they do about keeping American citizens safe.. or even trying to stem the flow.
How many more will die? CONgre$$ doesn’t care.. and hasn’t for years.
It is perhaps worth noting that Congress gets full pay during a shutdown.
So was if the peons don’t get paid? No skin off their own noses!
If you think about it, they don’t meet Trump half way because they can’t. You can’t willingly cut off your voting base (further proved with the Texas report with ~50,000 illegal votes).
So, this match is between two teams that cannot afford to make any concessions.
On the democrat side, they stand to lose votes and on the republican side Trump would lose his support.
I know a lot of people jumped ship after the “cave” yesterday (I think yesterday) but it was a simple sacrifice of a pawn - the game is still in play.
If everyday people like you can post a picture of Nancy’s wall, why can’t Trump tweet it. And why can’t Sarah have a huge picture of Nancy’s wall behind her at every press conference. Some reporter will ask what the picture is. Then she can say “That’s Nancy Pelosi’s big, beautiful wall. But the millionaires doesn’t believe we little people deserves one.”
And, PDJT keeps folding.. its been over two years and he’s still not even Drained the WashDC Swamp....which continues to rule us as if the Usurper Obammy was still Occupying our WHouse
I agree with your first point and paragraph but the second is not only wrong; it's unfair. Trump is one person with one third of the government. The other two have a say and if they say no they win. It's not like he can direct the AG to fire all the swamp creatures who are long time hired civil servants. There's a process and it only works if the AG and those working under him are honest about clearing out the swampers.
I haven't seen him fold yet but I did see him make a critical mistake when he signed the budget early last year which had snuck in a blurb about preventing the President from using any funds to build the wall. You have to understand that, yes, America wants the wall built but in the DC swamp pit; they don't.
Our government is broken. That's a fact. We are fast approaching that tipping point when both sides realize they can no longer coexist under this broken government. I don't know what will happen at that point but unless it involves incarcerating or deporting all leftist commies; I don't see a way forward. Frankly I think they should all be deported en masse to China and Russia. Let them deal with these miscreants of communist ideology.
Because Trump is showing he’s the adult in the room, and that Pelosi and Schumer are obstructionists.
That wall is also immoral...
Where are the electronic dogs...!
The drug cartel is paying her to keep the wall from being built.
